And they all suck. Well, not necessarily the buffs.
I understand the issue they're facing. I don't mind raw alchables getting removed or replaced, but their mission to "save" skilling is a lost cause because they still refuse to admit what the real issue is with skilling. MTX. Why waste time and money on in-game supplies when i can use my 6 free daily spins and get a million xp on a skill, plus daily challenge reward? They are just fucking with irons and mains who play like irons with this.
Also, fuck them for nerfing the Zuk farm. How the fuck was that so overpowered that it needs to go.

If they're going to lower the drop chance of Fleeting Boots at Raksha, then they need to add those to the drop pools of the Anacronia slayer creatures. Jagex didn't list the new drop rates for all three pairs of boots but he is the only source of those.
I'm almost certain the boots are already in some Anachronia loot pools since i got the mage boots not long ago during a Lampenflora task.

Blast Diffusion and Laceration were in the loot pools for Anachronia plant monsters before Raksha was added to the game. Fleeting didn't exist yet.

Okay. Anachronia was added when i took a break from the game, so i wasn't aware of what was and wasn't available at the time. I just assumed the boots were originally slayer drops that got added to Raksha's loot pool or vice versa.
Speaking of Raksha's loot pool, the way the word the rare changes is odd to me. How does making the boots rarer somehow make the Codices and Spikes more common? Raksha has a "common" rare drop table, that being the boots, and "rare" rare drop table, that being spike and Codices. Are they switching those around? Because adding the boots to the rare rare drop table would make it harder to get non boots as they now all have 1/512 drop chance.

The only way I can see the the codices and spikes becoming more common as the boots are made rarer is if the boots, spikes and codices are all on their own drop table together. You roll the 'rare' reward which then rolls which specific one you get at different weightings. Your odds of hitting the table doesn't change, just the odds of hitting specific rare rewards within the table.

I was gonna mention that. I'm a few reqs off being able to do it on my iron, but alas.

Regarding Raksha, iirc the rare drops are on a sub-table, but Jiggleplex is being intentionally ambiguous.

2 of the boots (Melee and Magic) were drops from dinos and vile flower (respectively) slayer mobs on Anachronia release. Ranged/fleeting was released later with Raksha and remains an exclusive drop.

You can easily afk venomous dinos for the Melee pair.
Luminous snagglers share the best rate for the Magic pair. That's how I got mine.

I think devil's snare can be afk'd, but probably inefficient (theorycrafting from an ironman task. I've yet to test it).

Boots are way more common than codices at Raksha, so you're bound to get a set before both gchain & grico.

From what they've put forward, there simply removing some of the boot odds over to the spike and codex. They'll be less chance of getting boots, which makes the better drops more common, though we'll see how this plays out.

On the nerfs themselves, they're overdue. I was saying back when Kerapac was released that drops were becoming too generous. Alchables are a crutch to guarantee a certain drop value, and then they oversaturated the market with hard-to-obtain items. They provide more supplies than you'll ever need, and the Cockatrice Egg example was the best one to use. They used drops at new bosses as a "solution" to items being scarce, and made them much too easy to farm. The playerbase wants to maintrain value of items and reduce inflation, but they aren't willing to accept that these nerfs are required for that to happen.

Proteans are also a huge issue, yes. They need to be removed from the game.

I remember that Cockatrice Egg thing. Summoning potions were in high demand and we needed them to spam Steel Titan spec at Solak, and later ripper. Merched a fair bit of Spirit Weeds before Arch-Glacor became the best source of seeds.

Then Croesus released which gave a stupendous amount of Cockatrice Eggs on launch. (Heavily nerfed now)

Iirc Red Spiders' eggs (I forget what they're for) and Soul Runes (for vuln) were in a similar boat for years. Heck, Red Spider's eggs were ~3k each at one point.

I merched them on f2p during 2016/17 for a bond, lmao.

Tacky 'fixes' to demand leaves the economy in tatters for years.

The steep drop corresponds to Croesus release, I believe.

What I'd give for a cool Cockatrice boss or tougher slayer mobs with drops that made sense.
Jiggleplex: 'What's the best source of Cockatrice Eggs? Go fight a cancerous plant monster with a pickaxe and fishing rod.'
Nani the fuck?

Hi! My name is Nesse and I am a trans software developer, artist and writer!

Professionally I have been a software developer for VFX and image editing software, spatial live audio software and a technical developer for the MMORPG RuneScape.

Individually I have been a comic artist and game developer for many years now, previously attending and publishing narrative and illustrated works, such as my Fight or Flight series.

I don’t actively use much social media, but you can find me at the below links:

Ok, I found more

He wrote this:
I've been tasked with documenting our hunt for Kezalam. Many in our line of work know the beast as something from fiction; a tale to scare overzealous children to return home before nightfall.

'Wander, wander, away from the path.

Wonder, wonder, what awaits in the dark?

A hungry beast that hasn't been fed?

A monster with blades instead of a head?

Hurry on back and do not be late,

for in the darkness the wanderer waits.'

Our master insists that all myths are born from truth, and that this legendary bounty will more than prove the proficiency of the rookies among us. If the tales are true, I can't help but wonder if our party will have what it takes to defeat the creature. My strengths lie in knowledge, and coupled with the unfamiliarity of the desert before us, the uncertainties around our task have left me blind and bound.

We've travelled deep into the Kharidian Desert in search of our charge. It has been a long and treacherous journey, with conversation among the group often focusing on the creature we seek. Most notably we discuss far-fetched tales of Kezalam's origin: some speak of the creature as a monstrosity of unnatural origin, filled with the blood of the deadliest creatures and released into the wild as part of some unseen game. I believe it most likely made the same journey we do now, either alone or as part of a warband from a long-forgotten conflict.

Progress is steady. Our trackers discovered large prints yet to be obscured by the ever-shifting sands.

Kezalam has been here, and recently.

The tracks were of no use. We followed them for the last few hours of scorching sunlight we had left, eventually coming across a visceral trail leading to a pack of wolves devouring their kill, surrounded by an audience of vultures. The disappointment of the party is palpable, but tomorrow is a new day.

Some of us can't help but wonder why we were tasked with hunting a potentially imaginary foe. Kezalam is no more than a bedtime story to the local populous, if it does exist it is at the very least no more a threat than the wild dogs. Perhaps this test is to examine our skills of the unknown, seeing how well we can survive when left in the dark.

We found it, but at what cost? We were caught by surprise whilst surveying a murky cavern. The encounter was brief but violent; a handful of scratches upon the horned monstrosity in exchange for a few members of the party. There is no doubt that this beast as at the least the inspiration for the stories that led us on our hunt. Even when obscured by the shadow of these tunnels the towering, horned silhouette of the creature immediately reminded me of the tales. I've managed to procure a vial of blood from the battle - something about it seems off, unlike anything I've encountered before. It may be of use or interest to someone back home, if we ever return. The lumbering beast vanished into the shadows as soon as the battle seemed to have turned in our favour. With no tracks to follow, our next course of action is to head deeper into the dim lair in hopes of finishing the job.

[The writing is hectic and barely legible]

At least there is a portfolio full of rainbow vomit that will follow him around everywhere he goes now, especially now that everyone loathes trannies.

I'd be surprised if they remove the LGBTAP+ shit from the game since OSRS gets their community interaction mainly from Reddit.

Take your pick on what it was. Foul (GEDDIT?!) was separate from the eight that all left at the same time from whatever restructuring occurred, and from what sleuthing I did people don't actually know.

  1. The mantits/being horny on a personal account and people connecting it back
  2. Being let go for incompetence, he was upset clearly and can't discuss it so he didn't just leave but it's the most boring
  3. Harassing a female co-worker as troons are wont to do. Mod Blkwitch is my personal vote; she may have a toothy smile like a gelada monkey but she does good work on the environmental updates and maybe Foul thought she was down to goon
  4. Some sort of NDA breach whatever that may be
