According to the above video, SpaceX and Nasa are hot on the heels trying to do something similar.

I don't think there's an agreed-on name for the genre, but there's a number of films about space travel that focus on a fairly-realistic portrayal of what it might be like / is like in space, without aliens or an emphasis on over-the-top action. In general, these really haven't been too successful, but Space Brothers is reasonably well known. It's certainly a thing, but nobody knows what to call it.
The Russians did recently make Salyut-7, a very fictionalized film version of the Salyut-7 repair mission, so inaccurate the cosmonauts involved denounced it. It was a terrible documentary but it made a pretty decent film.

Unpopular opinion, but Russia deserves this after their fallout with Ukraine. This could be a success story, and they need all the positive things to come out of this.

Astronauts get asked that all the time. NASA's really vague on answers. At least one married couple went on a mission together.
In my opinion, the fact that NASA won't give a straight "no" makes me think it has happened.
