Russian Special Military Operation in the Ukraine - Mark IV: The Partitioning of Discussion

Expectations are for "big arrows" to come down after the Slavyansk/Kramatorsk agglomeration (the last major fortification of Donetsk region) is neutralized. After this it's pretty clear sailing all the way to Keef because there are few big cities or natural barriers in the way.
Have we seen any fast paced operations by either side where the daily progress is greater than what can be hiked in a day? I don't recall any such things after the initial Russian attack and even during periods of major and/or rapid progress by either side every single village (or even treeline) had been a stumbling block for the attackers.
Like yeah, after Donbass is cleared, it's expected that the Russian pace will pick up, but I'd bet it will remain slow, with less combat for villages and more combat for treelines/trench bastions.

The simple truth is that europe DOES NOT have any outdated equipment to send. Anything they had was post-soviet stocks from eastern block countries, and the entire rest is NATO spec. Other than this is up to date because they dont maintain a reserve of older, mothballed equipment. That would mean the MIC does not get to get paid a lot to maintain their stuff!

Life pro tip for young Ukrainian men: get your beards lasered, and start doing tretinoin and intensive moisturising so you’ll look younger and maybe slink past the hunters for a little longer.
I thought you'll suggest them trooning out, but apparently not all kikes are the same.

If you are being literal then no, I'm not autistic invested enough in the conflict to measure changes that occur per 24 hour period.
More broadly, we have two recent examples of fast progress (in the scope of a week or less):
  • Gains Russia made after the fall of Avdeevka due to the chaotic Ukranian retreat and Ukraine not having the next belt of defenses prepared.
  • The very quick collapse of the Kursk pocket when Russian decided to force the matter.
That said, gaining territory has not been Russia's goal since they withdrew and regrouped their forces after getting savaged at the start of the war the failure after the Istanbul Accords. Instead their goal has been attrition and destroying as much of the enemy men and materiel as they can.

I spoke about "big arrows" for the only reason that the original question was about them. Note that I personally take "big arrows" to refer to movement of mass armor/MechInf formations and not to the speed of their progress. The real "speed boost" for Russia's advance is if they are able to attrit AFU enough for sections of AFU defense to start surrending or fleeing en masse allowing Russia to push (almost) uncontested. But even in these situations you'll still see pauses as Russia needs to pull up or adjust their logistics as well as bring forces to protect flanks.

We really have come full circle. Just a matter of time before they join CSTO to show Drumpfler what's what at this rate.
Unrelated question: anyone else here like BANAN?
I used to hate it but it actually kinda grew on me. I started out disliking it because it struck me as such a retarded, astroturfed piece of nonsense that it could only have spawned from the /r/thestatedepartment. But because it's total nonsense and essentially just a silly blank slate you can do whatever with it. It's not like the anti-Ukrainian memes rooted in actual ethnic racism of equating someone to a dirty swine. Putin is a monkey and he'll have your bananas and you can make lots of silly non sequitur memes out of that. It ended up being something both sides of the conflict could use.

Someone else requested rare banans so here's the rarest one I have.

On the subject of memes that were intended to be anti-Russian but ended up being more fun than anything else, I enjoyed the Orc memes a lot. I always liked orcs in fiction because they're usually just a lot of fun. Some of my personal favorites are a lot of the 40K-inspired memes, edits and art that came out of that. Just cool stuff.

Overall the conflict has had a lot of a "the left can't meme" vibe to it. Anti-Ukrainian memes tend to be stuff that the other side can't adopt and use for itself, while everything they put out tends to be more funny than formidable. Or you know, utterly self-defeating like their soy LARPing.

Just saying that the versions of those two specific vehicles sent over were intentionally outdated versions
Well, i am not a armoured vehicles autist, but i suspect that many upgrades to such vehicles are just a way to pump more taxpayer money for stuff nobody really wanted except those who spend time crossing revolving doors between the MIC and the Govt. Is it really something that will give overwhelming advantage on the battlefield being able to shoot running at 40kmh instead of 20? The thing with tanks, history has shown, is that is better to have more of them than less, even if they are somewhat inferior on paper in certain performances. Drones anyway have rendered any armoured vehicle, no matter how new and full of gizmos, instantly outdated.

The russians have fielded many really old tanks, with some upgrades, and they seem to have done their job, at the end of the day.

"The followers must feel humiliated by the ostentatious wealth and force of their enemies. When I was a boy I was taught to think of Englishmen as the five-meal people. They ate more frequently than the poor but sober Italians. Jews are rich and help each other through a secret web of mutual assistance. However, the followers must be convinced that they can overwhelm the enemies. Thus, by a continuous shifting of rhetorical focus, the enemies are at the same time too strong and too weak. Fascist governments are condemned to lose wars because they are constitutionally incapable of objectively evaluating the force of the enemy."

[Click me!]

Well that is Mister Commie Eco's mistake, his points apply to everything.

The enemy is foul yet a threat. Yeah duh. No shit. If the enemy is too strong to overcome, there is no reason to fight it. If it is too weak to pose a threat, again why fight it? Every propaganda ever made needs to make the enemy look threatening enough but also defeatable.

It is just writerese for "I am the dumbest gorilla nigger that states water is wow wet, and that I had discovered this amazing new phenomena" .

You can make this for any political cause any where.

-Magatards are at once mouthbreathing retards who let an orange conmen con them and wandered aimlessly into Congress, yet they are also literally Hitler 2.0's Boomerwaffen SS and they'll totally will be coming to kill your every Xher theydem friend ever, unless you retweet this on X, I mean Bluesky.
-Libtards are all effeminate faggots who fold at the weakest whisper of 'Nigger' who sit in their cuck chairs and shit themselves at the mere thought of your AR15, yet they will be taking YOUR GUNS and molest your kids at school right now and you can't do anything about it but buy our Maga Hat.

Plus misjudging the enemy is like the most common thing that happens in a war. Russia thought the Ukraine would fold if they rush Kiev. The Ukraine thought Russia would fold if the US goes SANCTOOOONS on it. They had satellites and glowies on the internet and all that shit. Nazis, WW1 Russians, Confederates, Ottomans, Crusaders, Mongols, Romans and so on didn't even have the Locheed Martin Glowie Spysat 9000 (14 billion dollars, plus 88 billion dollars to Israel and its all yours) to help them.

New Simp article dropped. Unfortunately it's paid, but he always gives a good chunk as a preview. For anyone unfamiliar with his writing I encourage folks to read through some of this past articles from this year. Simp gives a good synthesis of news from both politics and the battlefield. His only downside is that sometimes he's a little TOO dramatic or over-excited. I guess he does that to try and drive engagement. Also his comments section is somewhat cancer, but you are there for his analysis/summaries first and foremost.

Europeans didn't have much choice because it turns out their armor stock was severely depleted from neglect and parts cannibalism. Another example of current-gen equipment given to Ukraine is the French CAESAR SPG.

I apologize for popping off on you. I should be more charitable in my interpretation.
Thankfully even normies are starting to wise up to the fact that US has sent Ukraine not only modern (that is, needed for US to wage war) equipment but also money (either donations of cash or loans) that Ukraine used to pay goverment salaries, purchase more weapons, and of course embezzle and steal like no tomorrow.
I'm dreading seeing how many of these weapons pop up in terrorists' hands within the next decade.

Between deserters selling weapons to whoever will pay, corrupt quartermaster skimming them for arms dealers, and battlefield scavengers shipping them out en-masse, the black markets are going to be flooded with this stuff.
Zelensky finally changed his clothes, now a new sweater—“Thousands of children stolen from Ukraine. Bring them back.”
"We fight this battle not for ourselves, but for our children, and our children's children, which is why I'm forming a children's brigade."
-Zap Brannigan Zelensky

Is Zelensky once again taking a page from 'Zap Brannigans Big Book of War'?

A lot of them are, yes. Especially the smaller revisions.

But the major revisions (M1A1 -> M1A2, mainly) were much needed overhauls to modernize the vehicles. Probably still had some cash-grab stuff in there, but a lot of it was upgrading core parts and systems.

Stuff like adding new Optics, a modern fire-control system, better turret hydraulics, adding Nuclear/Chemical/Biological protection for the crew, ect.

funnily banan is a lot older than the invasion and stems from one autist who would spam it iirc, it is quite glorious how incapable glowies are at memeing

Every meme against the better side just transmutes into a compliment. Ruskies adopted the Orc thing almost immediately: 'you mean we are raucous, improvisational, and gain power by sheer belief in our actions? Awesome!'
Have we seen any fast paced operations by either side where the daily progress is greater than what can be hiked in a day?
Aside from the occasional pipe-operation or collapse of AFU morale leading to a sprint by the Russians, not really. But as a sperg who follows the maps each day, I have noticed some changes in the way the front moves. Russia use to just attack along the breadth of the line while trying to capture obvious strongholds - it seems the balance of force was such that the only way they could pin the AFU to delay reinforcement was to attack in this very broad manner.

Lately though, in the past four months, Russia has been able to thrust first and then bring up its flanks - not crawling all at once like one big wall. She moves faster now towards road arteries, and has the force balance to surround/choke key positions before assaulting them.

Are you- are you fucking serious? I was fucking joking about Middle Eastern Europe years ago and here they are allegedly training children; probably to cry to the world about their casualties at the hands of those 'dirty child killing Russians' because now children Russian soldiers come across may be a lethal encounter. Depending on how many are trained like this it could really fuck up the region's future stability-

:| This twit better not be trying to grow an 'unforeseen' splinter terrorist organization to get US boots on the ground. Or bank on winning from attrition like Afghanistan did against the US despite sharing a land border with his version of the US. It's not gonna end how he hopes it will.
