"My brain is still hard-wired for combat; I still react to perceived threats, and I don’t know if that will ever fully go away." ~ Ryan Michael Ballow
Ryan Michael Ballow is an Iraq vet turned entrepreneur who is now in the business of manufacturing Nootropics - drugs and supplements that are supposed to have cognitive benefits (although considering he's permanently under the influence of them, they don't seem to work particularly well).
He also used to run a "political news and commentary publication" described as "The New York Times, without the liberal bias", which was baleeted when no one gave a shit. He's also an Iraq vet.
Now he just tries to peddle his overpriced and under-dosed product while raging on the internet every once in a while. Did I mention he's an Iraq vet? I'm not sure how that relates to his product, but he sure keeps bringing it up when talking about his product for some reason.
Why should I care?
Ryan has very strong opinions about all kinds of things and doesn't handle criticism well.
People have called him out on a multitude of things, like not actually having any idea about the substances he was planning to put into his product:
Seriously, he bragged about working for CRAYOLA (maybe as a janitor?)
But we're just getting started.
Once his product released, a site about Nootropics gave him a fair and balanced review.
The result? Well, see for yourself:
(The entire review and his comments, including Ryan responding as himself and sockpuppets can be seen here: https://www.naturalnootropic.com/cortex-generation-1-review/ (http://archive.is/e5uD4))
Phew, not off to a great start, are we?
He then made a reputation for himself by antagonizing users on Reddit (who, again, were usually more knowledgeable than himself on the topics he talked about).
After receiving this kind of reputation, backlash resulted in the form of more negative reviews and comments on Reddit, Facebook and Amazon.
This culminated in Ryan being so paranoid that he accused a random person who gave his product a 2 star review of being a troll who never tried his product - and this wasn't even his first time of doing that.
Ryan showed a screenshot with 0 results from whatever software he uses to track his orders as "proof" that the reviewer had never tried the product. The thought that people could've tried it from friends or bought his product from a third party seller never crossed his mind (maybe he forgot to take his own product that day?).
Ryan then decides to become a class A internet tough guy:
The reviewer then made a Reddit thread about this, which blew up to become one of the top posts of the Nootropics subreddit, and later added a comment about the message he had received (entire thread here: http://archive.is/Gvp0s ).
Ryan first responds to the reviewer directly, "And that wasn't a threat. It's a promise. Our attorneys don't let people get away with fraudulent public slandering", then joined the giant Reddit thread with a number of obvious sockpuppets (which he uses to most often call people druggie, loser, basement dwellers, and claiming that they work at Starbucks):

Redditors from the thread then join in making their own reviews:
and engage Ryan directly about his behavior:
(He really forgot to take his dru.... NOOTROPICS that day)
After more negative reviews came in Ryan disabled the review section of his Facbook completely, losing some lulz in the process and naturally declaring himself the victor the next day in a video:
Maybe he was taught by Wimp Lo?
Unfortunately, he also set the product page on Amazon to only accept reviews from verified purchases, although some interesting reviews still remain:
Lolcow potential?
It's become clear that he will react very strongly from the slightest provocation or criticism, making his lolcow potential obvious.
After looking through his numerous selfies of him trying way too hard to look cool or profound in some way superimposed with random quotes, I've realized why:
Bonus pics:
(Yes, he's wearing a suit in his home office for some reason.)
