So a while back my phone suddenly would only do the intardwebs no calls or txt. I did a factory reset and it worked again then soon it went back to only the web. But my hotspot always worked
A trip to t mobil and they stuck a new sim in and now everything works but my hotspot. On the devices i wish to connect it says wifi connected no internet. I looked at samsung troubleshoot site and it told me to switch to mobile data. I try to toggle that but the button is dead. Wtf
Even a factory reset didnt help
Thanks

depending on your contract you can have t mobile send you a second sim, take that and put in in a cheap 4g router like a normal fucking person

Your "Mobile Data" button in the pull-down settings menu is grayed out (Has two arrows, one going up and one going down)? You are also sure you have the Mobile Hotspot setting switched on, under Connections, Mobile Hotspot and Tethering? (You can also try cycling that toggle to see if that makes a difference) Also, have you tried USB tethering?

You can also try "Airplane Mode" cycling, sometimes that can clear this kind of bug. What you do is engage "Airplane Mode", wait 45 seconds, and then disengage "Airplane Mode", and wait for the data connection to be restored.

If your "Mobile Data" button is greyed out, that could mean you aren't able to access data through your cellular connection. That's a good sign of a SIM that was programmed incorrectly.

If you have a T-Mobile phone while on T-Mobile they can block you from using the hotspot feature, but if you have a factory unlocked phone it's unblocked, they just want you to pay more for a built-in feature

You do know T-Mobile offers 5G-based home internet for $50 a month, right?

They send you this Nokia router that uses 4G and 5G signals to get connectivity. It's not that bad considering what it is. Only time I had a problem was literally a day or two ago with a tower failure.

Most my time is spent sitting in the truck watching mexicans work and surfing this, chan, and gun sites. It just sucks ive been using my phones 5g hotspot a couple years and whatever they just did fucked it up. And the solution is spend twice what i have been spending?
And the competency of tmo personnel is questionable at best. He couldnt restart a phone that dosent have a dedicated power button

Might sound dumb, but have you tried using the same sim in another phone? Maybe it's the phone that is throwing a tantrum.
