I bought the old Lodoss War anime on DVD, Chronicles of the Heroic Knight. Watched it on VHS all over the course of a weekend at a friend's house when I was in high school. As soon as I started the first episode and that opening started up, man...the feels. The show ain't great but the art of the opening and the song had a stranglehold on my imagination for years, and all of a sudden I just wanted to go back through my old writing, just to get that sensation back of spending every spare moment I had in a world I was designing. It just seems like I had so much more energy and drive to put into something I wanted to create, and now I just don't have that in me a lot of the time like I used to, and I want that back so badly.

There was a tree near my house, that I used to play under when I was a kid. Couple of days ago I saw that it'd been cut down and felt kinda like that. Nostalgic for the past and sad, because it went away literally.

The good feeling of booting up a Ps2 with the little back switch. Also the sound of game consoles chugging and loading

As far as gaming goes, I miss that pretty much everything learned about video games was learned either by experience or word of mouth. There were games I just couldn't beat when I was a kid, and if I knew a friend had gotten past the parts I couldn't I'd take it to their house and let them beat it for me so I could continue. That was a bit of a litmus test for friendship, too - crappy friends made fun of you, good friends were happy to help.

This was the preview for the Star Wars trilogy I saw growing up that got me into the series. It's pretty much perfect and it ultimately makes me sad that the franchise has become such a bloated mess over the years. This is such a tightly edited trailer, too.
I think these were the first lego sets I had, but my memory is probably shit and i'm recalling wrong, anyway:

Yeah, I just like pirates, ok?
King Kahuka's throne! YES!

I remember the Wii shop Chanel always only had an text description and a few screenshots. So every game I downloaded was basically unknown besides what my parents had told me or if I had played the series before as I didn’t know how to look up info online then. A similar mystery was also found in super Mario 64 ds where I was always looking to find the mystery of the 4th white door. When you first walk through it you immediately leave and get a star and every other time you walk in a scary laugh plays and you are thrown out. I always thought that door had a seceret level or character

This games soundtrack always makes me kinda sad but I never played it when I was younger. It just sounds so happy and relaxing but everything has a longing lonely undertone to it. It feels like the end of a happy summer I never had:

Yeah, Knuckles Chaotix' soundtrack are also great and extremely chill, reminds me of a summer's sunset too. Like when the sun's halfway into the horizon, and the sky's all red. For some reason it also reminds me of some beaches and woods. Especially this one, the credit's medley (although I'm pissed that they left out great pieces from the medley).

There are a lot of old games that give me the feelings but seeing Chip's Challenge takes me right back to sneaking after school snacks to the computer desk with Jonny Quest playing in the background.

Yeah the songs have the feelings of enjoying the summer sunset with some friends knowing that it will be over soon and you’ll have to say goodbye. I hope a sequel gets made some day as the graphics and sound are on point and the gameplay, with a few exeptions, was pretty fun especially playing as all of the different characters had their own unique way of moving fast.

I'm old, so one that gets me is the fast forward/rewind sounds from old tape players

this soundtrack is the definition of being 12 years old for me

Also, I bought my copy of Sim City 2000 in Seattle back in 1999. I've just come back after 15 years and I cannot recognize a single street or landmark outside of a postcard. The friends I had have either moved or are not the people I used to know. I have probably changed as well. My Seattle is truly gone.

I have no idea why, but listening to the Gin Blossoms always takes me back to 1993-95. Reminds me of a summer full of rented SNES and Genesis games, shitty frozen pizzas, Boku juice boxes and Clearly Canadian, Batman: The Animated Series, American Gladiators, shitty B movies and softcore porn on Cinemax, Beavis & Butthead, etc.

I remember fast forwarding my tape copy of 'He's the DJ, I'm the Rapper' from 'Nightmare on my Street' to 'Parents Just Don't Understand' so many times it stretched the tape out and Will Smith sounded like a Chipmunk.
