Right now, Volition is nothing more than a company whose seventh generation heydays are now an ever-distant memory, and if they can't make this game a hit they are almost certainly fucking done. Yet instead of keeping their fucking mouth shut and trying to not piss off whatever goodwill they have left from their ever dwindling pool of fans and loyalists, they keep doing this shit.
Since Volition loves to respond to people with gifs from their golden days, I'm gonna end this post with a screengrab from their golden days as well.

I really don't understand why Volition dug themselves in this deep of a hole. Literally all they needed to do after AoM flopped was rerelease SR2 with prettier graphics for modern consoles to generate some cash. They clearly suck at new ideas, and their fanbase doesn't tolerate this woke faggotry that they assume will somehow sell. If it didn't work with AoM, why did they assume they could do it a second time but just straight up call it Saints Row this time? At least AoM had Pierce, Gat, and Kinzie. They don't even have their saving grace of Day 1 Gat DLC to try to pull this turd out of the shitter.

So about that: when pressed on Twitter, this is what the account had to say about that.

Followed by a quick backpedal going "OH NONONONONO WE DIDN'T MEAN THAT! It's a new version of Saints Row 2 though, so we're not REALLY working on older already existing games technically!", reiteraing that these things take time to make, and that this new version will be a separate game you'll have to download. Dunno if this means the separate version will be based on IdolNinja's work from Gentlemen of the Row or not, or whether it'll be sold for profit due to being a new version of the game, but at least it's still being done in his memory. Which is honestly pretty concerning if they're A.) still having trouble with it this far down the line, B.) still can't give anything but vague updates and "It'll be out when it's out we're doing this him HIM guys!" tweets, and C.) think his work from GotR was just making the game run better and nothing else.

How do we KNOW this new female Boss is "badass?" From what we've seen, it's bad writing and a complete departure from previous SRs.
If this character was one of many combinations they would show, it'd be no problem. But, they're JUST showing this default character. People will get confused and think: "Wait, we cannot make our own character anymore?"

The problem is this is a calculated move by Volition. They know the old fans are becoming a liability and think the best move is to make long lasting friendships with the new generation of woke zoomers and Epic who sustain these woke zoomers. The fans who play saints row are not an influential part of the industry, they are made up of aging adults in their late 30s who amount to nothing in the game dev business save maybe a couple of indie Arma clones and cheaply made porn games bilking Patreonbux and even more being crusty old complainers who think the industry is shit but can do fuck all.
To Volition they can ignore them and focus on this subverted expectation games and not go bankrupt. Maybe shit can the SR2 mod development while they are at it just to piss us off even more
