Now that I have finished Saints Row 2 after I managed to get it to run decently I must say, I've missed out on a lot of good stuff by never playing it and only playing SRTT and SRIV before. The more serious tone is definitely much better than the overly humorous tone of the third and fourth installment, especially with how the Boss handled Shoko and Maero, that was some fantastic stuff, 10/10.
In terms of gameplay, I do like that you can layer clothing and how you could customize more than just the color. It's nice that every activity has a dedicated into cutscene, something that was missing in later installments, probably due to lower budget. But overall it was pretty fun, albeit frustrating at times. It's a damn shame the PC port is this broken, though I've managed to get a crash only twice or three times during the entire playthrough and not once did my save corrupt. Also worth mentioning, I was playing with the Gentlemen of the Row mod, for the sake of fixing issues, even though the GotR mod adds and changes a lot of stuff in the game itself.
