But also, the fact that they're too fucking retarded to understand WHY people don't like their games in the first place is the worse problem imo. Like maybe your fucking billion dollar games wouldn't crash and burn if you just had a little bit of humility. But that's asking too much.

They knew exactly what they were doing under the entire development. I recall how Volition ceded to the feminist grifter Anita Sarkeesian around 2014. There was no way Saints Row reboot could have come out on top with that kind of mentality having pozzed the studio. This is one of the most clear examples of ideological capture of a video game IP, with commercial and creatively disastrous consequences. They took a game know for its anarchic humor and sanitized it for a mythical ‘modern audience’. The result was a disastrous ‘safe space’ of a game that no one wanted to play.

Volition tried to listen to fans and make the Saints Row 2.5 we asked for according to Flippy and mrsaintsgodzilla, two of the biggest and more reliable fan sources who had insider info. It was shitcanned by Deep Silver and likely embracer by large and restarted development into the dogshit we got. You can see some of the elements that made it into the game like all the neat customization compared to SR3, and like, customizing your safehouses I think but it never got finished or properly expanded. The story should have gone back to its roots. Hell fans were baited and switched. The initial teaser hyped people up, believing it'd be a return to roots and all about the gangs now that its rebooting. Nope. A nigger female, DON'T FUCK WITH MY (NERDY FAGGOT) FRIENDS.

None of this excuses Volition for what they did, but they also made SR1 and SR2 and red faction guerilla at one point. And while I hate 3; they put Kanye West in its best and most iconic mission opening. We pretty much lost another studio to corpo mishandling, god knows what'll happen to that office's history. Its kind of somber. They had a chance to reboot and return to a formula we like and they were sabotaged and made something they did not wanna make. And you can tell they didnt have heart in it, with how bad the story and cutscenes are made lol. There was more heart put into SR3's remaster than the reboot!

Fuck them and fuck their attempt to bait and switch by lying about this being Saints Row 2.5. These are the same clowns that said that 3 was where they matured and started shitting on their prior works as "clones of GTA".
 
A quick post about emulating Saints Row 1 on PC. Turns out there's now a fork of Xenia that implements a mousehook and Saints Row 1 is one of the games supported. In practice, this means that you can now play Saints Row 1 with mouse and keyboard. Some keybindings are a bit odd due to the nature of how it works, but for the most part it's really, really good. Doesn't feel like you're playing on a console emulator for the most part, and I was able to do the last Carnales mission at the second try. I failed at the first try due to not shooting the plane enough but I was really close. On the second attempt the car was basically unscathed.

Unfortunately there is still a ton of flickering when trying to do 2x rendering so using FSR and Lossless Scaling to smooth out the gameplay and fix up the resolution is still a must.

Been using a custom CEMU hook for mouse and keyboard support, but the game's performance is kinda shit on Canary, in terms of frame rate

You can get a 60fps patch from Fl1ppy's website. it requires unpacking the game but you do get native 60fps in the end. There are also game patches that enable it but I'm still using the game mod either way.

Agents of Mayhem and the mediocrity of Gat out of Hell meant unless Saints Row 5 was the best selling in the franchise this was always going to happen
 
Agents of Mayhem have some of the worst characters i have seen in a game. The game was released in 2017, and already had all the woke DEI feminist garbage in it. When you look back its clear as day what killed the Saints Row series. The company had been invaded by woke retards.

Really it seems like the series went to shit when Mike Kulas left the company after Saints Row 2 was released and his right-hand Dan Cermak took over. Cermak was a trend-chaser who wanted to end the "Saints Row is a GTA Clone" accusations by making the series into what it became in the later Saints Row games.

yea i remember seeing the muslim woman and the punk woman who gives the epic middle finger while jumping backwards into a car, that kind of quirky mileniall cringe sticks with you and is why i knew volition was cooked if they tried to follow that up. the luck with saints row as a reboot is evidently as showcased by the reactions of the reboot by longtime fans is the game was such a flop that this quirk faggot waffle badassery tone wasnt known to most people, so it was a culture shock when the reboot came out and people were like "wait this sucks?!" but once you do that tone you cant course correct and they wouldnt want to so the next saints row was always going to be bad. im sure deep silver helped dig their graves but they for sure wanted the friendship and bad jokes

I will always remember when they first showed off Saints Row 3 gameplay, I was so excited to see what would come after 2, a game I didn't expect to like but ended up loving.
They showed the purple dildo bat and I instantly knew, I knew it would suck, I knew the jokes would devolve into "haha dicks", Saints Row 3 is what turned me into a jaded young man.
