She likely cooked up the idea; it was clear that she was at least one of the minds behind the Brotherhood, and given how their cutscene intro is them fucking up the barrio and her opinions on Carlos in the first cutscene, you can guess they're at least partially racially motivated too.
I think bringing race into it is too much, if im not misremembering the only comment she made towards Carlos was that he looked like her gardener. Insensitive? Yeah, but she did apologize for it...

All this talk about gangs made me think i don't remember any names from the factions in SR3... I remember Killbane, but that's it... Don't remember the name of his gang.

Reminder that they were introduced advertising wise by attacking the Barrio... which yeah, tends to be Latino. They are also stylized at least in part in a way that is similar to white supremacist gangs. Which given the Samedi are references to Caribbean drug cartels, and the Ronin on Yaks, makes sense.

It's not a big thing, it was just something I noticed when thinking about the plot. Even without that you can compare them to chop shoppers and something akin to motorcycle gangs, and Jessica serving as the money lady due to clearly being the rich kid for them.

Nah specifically the ones living in old Stilwater and the caverns, tho he probably said something about them too. it mightve been an hour long video and i only watched the first couple so he probably had something to say about everything
Oh yeah, those missions totally slipped my mind (not sure why, its pretty fun hucking hobos into their own shanties).

Killbane's gang was The Luchadores, wasn't it?

Real talk tho, Dex should've been one of the Syndicate bosses. That would've tied up that loose end nice and neat.

There is race coding. Of course there is race coding - it's not "woke" it's just how this world generally works.

It's so shitty how he gets forgotten about until that stupid Gat Out of Hell crap. I've always thought that Saints Row 3 was trying real hard to forget its roots. No Stilwater, no returning characters except for the Lieutenants, and they're either killed off (Gat), twisted into entirely new characters (Shaundi) or have their taste in music suddenly become good (no points for guessing).

Deckers, Morningstar and Los Luchadores.

I wish the gangs were more distinctive, beyond just the uniform. As it is, the only difference between them are the specialists. The Deckers have the chick in roller blades, the Morningstar have a sniper and Los Luchadores have the grenadiers. Other than that, they're just copies of each other.

Despite what movies and TV have told us since the 1970s, there are shockingly few multi-ethnic gangs out there.

We as The Saints were supposed to be the multi-ethnic ideal, the cross-culture gang that just wanted to protect the old neighborhood, blah blah, blah. And they do a good job at least in the first two games of showing that The Saints are largely misfits. Ultimately, though, you can read it as we were forced into it, but we are as big of POSs as all the rest in the end. The thing is, we are the player (or, Player) and its fun for us on the IRL side of the controller. And, ultimately, this is what made all the soft boys at Volition nervous and eager to cut the balls off the the franchise, too.
