It just fucking came out? Are you not allowed to have an opinion of Episode 1 of ANY TV show until the rest of the season out? If the rest of the season is solid gold, and this one was still kind of shit in comparison, what difference would it make in waiting?
There are a few posters in this thread who have written off the entire series because they didn't like the first episode. There's also some people who assume the first episode has all the best material which is honestly pretty retarded but that's okay.

I don't really understand the people saying that the directions not good. Literally doesn't make sense to me I guess I'm missing something. I also didn't find the sketches to be overly long like everyone else is saying. The preview set up the punchline, the full episode delivered the payout and by the end it felt like everything was concluded nicely. The Hudson Mohawk music video at the end was just a badass reminder of the groups history, and rise back to relevancy. It's what the negro boys would call a flex
The production value of everything was extremely high. I realize most of the people hating on the show are doing so because they had preconceived notions and they're also probably a little bit autistic in the brain. I mean, I'm not going to go watch a Hassan piker podcast and then act surprised when I don't like it.

In 2025 there's nothing to even compare this show with other than old mde, and a genre that's basically dead: sketch comedy. No point in comparing it to SNL because that show has been unsalvageable for decades. I could compare it to WKUK, and I think that show is extremely funny and still relevant to this day. Nothing Sam Hyde does will ever top the overall consistency of that show. They struck gold with that and it's a shame what happened with Trevor. Making a sketch comedy show in 2025 when there's 10x the amount of money to be made in a podcast, is really just out of a love of the art and in this case a personal vendetta against everyone who thought Sam was finished.

You shouldn't need a bunch of context before going into a show like this. It's supposed to be funny and if you don't laugh then it can't be considered a success. However, there is so much context and history behind the show makes it much more culturally significant than the content of the show itself. The same day the show went live on YouTube, a 2-hour podcast was released on some normie YT channel and Sam was casually arguing in support of far-right, pro-white talking points. He said it's time for white people to stop apologizing and to stand up and take pride in your race in heritage. Usually when a new TV show or movie comes out the actors go on little press tours, with scripted, squeaky clean responses to generate publicity for the movie. They are contractually obligated to not say anything to damage the film's reputation. This show is a true "fuck-you" to anyone who still believes you have to play by the rules. Anti-establishment communists dream of being able to accomplish something like this.

There's not really a deeper point I'm trying to make other than it's not fair to write off the series based off of one episode but people are going to do it anyway. I know there's going to be a lot of great content in the upcoming episodes, and some of them will have the political stuff that seems to be missing in the first episode. There were a lot of segments shown in the original trailer from a few years ago, and only one ended up being used for episode 1.

I finished watching the full first ep. and I gotta say I'm not hyped anymore for the rest of the season. I was worried back when they did the sequel to wine party (I think it was called vine party) and I thought if they did WP 2 they might just ruse old bits and make them less funny. I like the actor abuse, but it was significantly less funny and they gave the game away way too early. In their conspiracy show, Moms, and MDE WP they strung the actors along a bit more before Nick or Sam would unleash on them. Hearing an actor read an outrageous conspiracy theory script/scenario Nick and Charles prepared and coached the actors to take seriously only for the actor to get shut down by them after a long monologue and left to flounder was funny. Seeing actors try to be comedic or escalate tension in situations and getting out of their depths while Sam and Nick make fun of them was funny. In the football skit, its as soon as the actor improvising stumbles a bit, Nick breaks character and starts going in way too hard while Sam is mugs to the camera. Honestly, the fat guy who started screaming and smashing stuff was more cringe then the actors failing to improv. Not enough build up, Nick acting like a caricature of a rant guy, Sam doing his "get a load of this guy" faces, and screaming=funny. And Sam saying the storm out was staged is either trolling or ruins the most memorable moment entirely.

The rest to me is "it's pretty much like x, but not as good." Daddy dom stuff was okay, Erick standing around awkwardly was funny, but he wasn't very good at grilling the bdsm guys. Letty did a better job. It's pretty much like the Wall Show, but not as good. The inspirational n word bit was pretty much the toss it bit, but not as good and not very memorable. The ending montage felt weirdly masturbatory in a way you don't really see from MDE. The Vicodin grandma was probably the best bit from the episode in terms of structure and payoff, but its not quotable and Nick's reveal is less funny because we already saw him breaking character and the 4th wall before.

Welcome to the internet buddy, people will see a trailer for a movie or video game and immediately say it sucks with the smallest amount of information possible.

To be totally honest I think the preview ended on a sour note by just having it be Sam & Crew bullying the shit out of an old boomer for being a craigslist actor. That was straight up sad when he was walking out while being totally professional and Sam was giggling like a high school bully. Like what's the fun in that that you got someone to quit because you were treating them like total garbage?

Trolling is funny when the people involved make a reaction that's more interesting than anything you're doing. Like I thought the "Dom Daddy" sketch was great because it was just so gross how into it the creeper "contestants" were. But leave Fred Hyde alone unless we find out that is in fact Sam Hyde's father and was in on the joke. I'm not alone on this the comments I saw were users all feeling bad for Fred.

Not reading all that, sorry. Look it's not awful, but it also has a steep hill to climb up compared to World Peace, and like everyone else has been saying, most of the sketches in Ep 1 are either too weak to withstand the crew bailing on it to just fuck with actors, or are decent in concept/execution, but are more or less just rehashes of sketches they did in WP.

I'm not tottally writing off the rest of the season btw, but if they thought this was the best foot to put forward, and people at the live show said Episode 2 was noticiably worse than this, then it does makes me a little nervous it's all gonna be downhill from what I already gave a pretty generous 6/10.

Are you a 12 year old that just discovered /pol/?

rando niggers are just hating on the show medialiteracy posting until jersh shows up and gives his opinion to find out what to think

and then it'll be whining that they're charging money for their work because so many fags think they don't deserve to be compensated for some reason (read: broke ass fags can't afford $20 from their video game fund)
All things considered 20 bucks is a pretty good value prop, I was a little disappointed by Ep1, but don't feel totally ripped off.

That said, I wouldn't watch or change my opinion on something soley because Josh gave it an endorsement, he has shit taste and his word isn't gospel.

This is such a faggy opinion to post, especially on kiwifarms of all places. It was funny as fuck, especially when Eric yells out "cut it out guys hes thinking about coming back!" Maybe go watch sex in the city or something queer.

to make this post less spergy here is one of my favorite 'being mean to people' videos from MDE

It's a forum you numbskull, I'm gonna voice my opinion.

I'm not crying that Sam Hyde should be cancelled or that it went too far. I just wasn't amused. You can like it and more power to you but I don't see the humor in it. I'm going to watch the rest of the season when I have the time.

Yeah... a forum dedicated to the documentation of real human oddities and suffering lol. A boomer getting hassled at an acting gig for having a fried egg brain is total babyhands.

Youre making a point to say it was too mean lol, all they did was call him gay and stupid and he got offended. The ladies in mother took more abuse than the fucking geez did.

This thread is like reading American Psycho when you go from a chapter of listing the brands of every item in a room, to a chapter of explicit porn, to a chapter that's just a five page critique of an album. Very entertaining whiplash.

I'm really invested in who's going to win the argument over whether or not I can enjoy EP.

I just watched the first episode and it was a pretty strong comeback, The opening scene was great and I like that you can't really tell where the show ends and reality begins a lot of the time. The sketch with the old men was pretty much just a redoing Moms but because this time they were doing it with men, they could go a lot harder and say meaner shit which was funny though I do feel bad for the guy who they made walk out. The dating show was a weird experience because I never felt so much second-hand embarrassment while simultaneously being unable to look away due to the inherent humor of the situation at the same time, if this was the entire show then I'd probably end up binging it in a day. I feel like a perfect balance was struck between allowing these guys to embarrass themselves and pressing them but just hard enough that it doesn't feel like you're forcing the content and trying to get them to act in a way they otherwise wouldn't. Oh and the fake Vicodin ad was also funny but pretty out of left field like they made it but didn't know where it was gonna go so they just threw it into the middle of a random episode which probably made it better. All in all, this looks like it's going to be a pretty solid 6 episodes. My usual rule is to never paypig but I might actually shell out the $20 for the season just because it's enjoyable enough that I'd like to support more of it being made.

I watched the full first ep and enjoyed it. Got some good laughs out of me for the first half or so but I agree that the sketches went on for a little too long. The lack of Ruse's direction is definitely noticeable but there were only a couple moments where I was like "man, this camera angle sucks." Feels more like a reality TV show than a sketch show, but that also seems like what they're going for just bullying random retards off craigslist unscripted lol.

The production value is all there though and I did like the bumpers! It's no WP1 but I don't understand how it warrants the spergy essays in this thread. I do wish more of the Charls brand absurdist humor comes in later.

OLDTROON MDE fan (Ideas Man era). I am incredibly disappointed. It was not funny. Had a couple of laughs the whole time. The "gonna do it' intro was pretty funny, and some bits of the Daddy Dom sketch (which was harmed by Sam's propensity to use it as an excuse to act out his fetishes) were funny, that's about it. Rewatched WP and some old youtube stuff after and the difference in creativity and humor is staggering. Not excited for the rest of the series but I hope they just threw all the shit sketches in the first ep for some reason. Accepting that I may no longer be the target demographic for MDE's shit (Zoomers who consume the podcast and think Sam is an unironic self-help guru)

Sam’s not gonna put you on Fishtank for defending him. Again I’m not crying, I don’t feel bad for Fred Hyde he should have done some research. I just don’t think it was funny.

>HOW DARE YOU NOT ENJOY ALL ASSHOLE BEHAVIOR ON KIWIFARMS

Stop being a tryhard faggot. I don’t have to enjoy everything your E-Daddy does. And part of Sam Hyde’s humor is to at time offend the viewer. It’s part of the experience - that’s why the music on all MDE content is 99% total garbage.
