Sam Hyde

I will not stand for any bad-mouthing of Harland. He has the innate ability of making comedians with ego become pants-shitting retards when dealing with him. Exact same thing happened to Joe Rogan. Hyde should take this as a warning and get his ego in check, or brush up on his improv. Maybe get off the T. Harland isn't a household name or anything, but he's a solid act who's been around a while. If Sam had clued in on Harland's act and left his posse at home (except Nick), this would've been a great podcast.

Sam destroying this guy's set was great, not sure why so many people here are clutching their pearls over it or acting like it's going to ruin Sam or anyone else's career. I would've been disappointed if Sam didn't go ape shit.
I know nothing about Sam outside of features from homepage, that he likes getting shit on his dick using underaged fangirls and that he did some lame Big Brother knockoff, so I guess I'm like 90% of the people who saw this Harland episode.

What I got from it is Sam is such a shithead the host can openly mock him to his face, his topics of interest are brand poison like race replacement or Jewish questions, he goes for violence when he doesn't get his way and Sam's entourage has the IQ of a goldfish, especially that Barf Bag Asian guy. Gee I wonder why Sam Hyde can't get any inroads in the entertainment industry?

Honestly I think the worst part was the "I was raped by 6 priest" "erm ackchyually are you sure it wasn't public school teachers or rabbis, hmm?" Bit. The deadpan trampling of such a simple joke with politics was painful. I get priest molestation jokes are tired and an annoying overblown thing but to get offended and ruin a joke is gay and obnoxious which ever side you're on.
The guy standing behind harland was the MVP, the joy every time he's forced to talk and say nothing was immense. Him almost trying to go along with the cunnilingus joke before being ordered not to by sam was just so amazingly pathetic, truly kino.

I think Fishtank would be even bigger if it wasn't attached to someone as polarizing as Sam Hyde. I don't talk about it in real life partly because of that. On the other hand I appreciate that it wouldn't be the same show without an edgy shitlord with deep pockets running it. I just wish I didn't have to pick between watching boring sanitized media that's socially approved and funny entertaining but problematic media that will make people think I'm an awful person if I talk about it
All things considered Sam Hyde is barely even "edgy" today when you look at all the wacky as fuck political autism spectrum shit going on.

What really shoots him in the foot is his inability to produce khantent as reliably as he probably could. It's good in some ways but a huge limit in others. I can't honestly tell if Jet Neptune drags him down or helps him with stuff at this point but from my own perspective I mostly heard of Sam Hyde's actual khantent (MDE videos) when idubbbz tried and failed extremely badly at "exposing" Sam Hyde.

Prior to that I only knew of him as being the school shooter guy and most of his existence seems to be that Jet got him onto crypto early on. Lots of people parrot that he's a "millionaire" and whatever other metrics to show he's wealthy but I'm going to guess that if he hadn't gotten into crypto he would've gone nowhere. His gumroad stuff seems like babymode for monetization and he actually wants fishtank to make tons of money, reliably but that's a difficult proposition. Fishtank looks like they've put up tons of money and gotten stuck with properties that they now have to sell: the entire thing isn't a total write off but I don't think has actually made that much money... But whatever, he doesn't have a boss and can do what he wants (unless Stripe get pissed off)

I don't recall of almost any of his comedy sketches or appearances being super widely known (except for the TED talk one he did). So his entire modern existence isn't down to success or financial acumen but because Jeet Neptune got into his ear about crypto early on (and I think Sam said some software company guys supported him but weren't public about it). I'm guessing he's sitting on a few million but it's hard to know with someone like him. The idea he's some financial sage isn't reflected with reality: I think it's fair to say almost all of his products/videos haven't exactly made bank for him.

the funniest part of this entire thing is Charls saying things in the background. It's kind of relatable if you've ever had someone you know absolutely ruin something for a group of you, you'll have a guy like Nick is here having an ego death just falling apart silently, and then another dude like Charls who feels similar but wants to make everyone feel a little better so they just will occasionally chime in and say little casual stuff as if it's not so bad

"Is there a gorilla in the room?"
After Adult swim cancelled world peace, Charls left the group because of Sam being the reason why the show was pulled. So don't be too surprised if Charls decides to leave again.

Daily reminder for everyone who likes to think Sam wants to hit the mainstream. He doesn't, he has said he doesn't, he, like everyone with half a brain, knows Hollywood is Jewish and gay and that it'll stick it's hand up your ass if you get involved with it, he just released WP2 and it did very well according to him on one of his recent podcasts (sold 40K units iirc) and they're looking at doing a third season, so they have independent success and don't need help from anyone. These podcasts to him are probably just a way to create buzz and to get more "normie" types to look into who he is, and more than that, podcasts are a meme. Every retard with an income above $20K has a podcast, he picks and chooses and acts accordingly. I bet all these podcasts are like the gaming streams to him, a necessary evil that he not so lowkey loathes.

He does seem to genuinely want to go on Joe Rogan or something similar and make it into being a grand philosopher as a stretch goal and kind of have some epic sage wisdom that makes him like wise or some shit (totally outside of the comedian thing)

The problem with that is he doesn't really write, which is fair enough but also limits his reach.

That’s the whole point.

What Sam is doing does two things. First, it’s promo for MDE. Second, the way he’s doing these podcasts shows just how useless and poorly put together they are. By putting these comedians/podcasters in awkward situations it also shows just how terrible they are at improv. As soon as things leave the podcast format they’re toast.
If that was Sam’s intention, he picked a horrible target, and it backfired spectacularly. Harland isn’t just some nobody midwit podcaster, and he’s pretty sharp on his feet. Here he is completely destroying Sam’s buddy David Lucas for 8 minutes straight.

I really don’t think this was some genius 5-D chess trolling bit from Sam. I like Sam. He can be very funny. But he can also be an embarrassing, hypocritical, whiny manchild who throws tantrums when things don’t go his way. That’s the version we’re seeing here.

but because Jeet Neptune got into his ear about crypto early on
Sam has been talking about/making references to bitcoin for over a decade, back before Jet had even hit puberty. Jet is a wigger zoomer with a lolcow father who had nothing before he started working for Sam, if anything Jet talks about crypto because of him not the other way around.

I think Jeet got him way more heavily into it was the implication that I remember, or at least beyond just Bitcoin itself.
It doesn't really matter about Jeet's age because if Sam put some serious safe money away he very easily would've had a couple of million dollars minimum.

Edit: id actually be curious to hear some of Sam's early discussion of it to see how much he actually knows. Not sure how to find that though.

you should read jaihoos trip to the future, its the deepest philosophical work i have ever witnessed and it was instrumental in injecting a stabilizing dose of neverending optimism into my worldview

I’ve been on the fence about Sam for a while. It always struck me as odd to create a career off of mean spirited targeted jokes, while also giving guru life advice.

Genuinely, if you are treating other people around you with apathy the universe is gonna throw it right back.

Seems his nihilistic approach to his fellow retarded humans created an eco chamber, he can only perceive the world in a very set way.

It’s embarrassing to watch a man destroy someone else’s property because he didn’t like being asked questions from someone he looked down on.

It’s the most nigger type reaction anyone could have given… what a faggot Sam is lol.

Harlan deserves massive credit for making Damiel funny on camera, something that Sam and his wiggers have never achieved.

Charls’ occasional interjections were another bright spot, he got a chuckle out of me nearly every time.

Sam should have approached this like a late season Fishtank 1-on-1 where he’s still kinda fucking with the subject but in a relaxed way where they end up laughing with each other. Instead he got all weird and stiff while Harlan was trying to goof off. The desk flipping was obviously meant to be a bit but it bombed and now Sam looks like a crybaby to a large portion of his fanbase and Harlan’s. Sad!

Although I think the comedian culture circle jerk thing is gay, one thing they always talk about is how comedians will get together at a club and talk shit at each other and neg each other in a playful way. Although Sam see's himself as a standup comedian, I couldn't see him faring that well in that culture and being the butt of a joke even if it is just comedians playing around. So it makes sense that he only does his comedy shows with Nick and Charls and not other comedians.

I hope this stuff will be humbling for Sam and he won't go on some gay vendetta. He did admit his fuck ups before and I wonder if this will be the case too. I love MDE and their OG crew, but Sam needs to get his shit together. Him constantly slipping into guy guru babble is distracting him from comedy. Pearl clutching over the table being flipped is gay, though. Harland might end up profiting off this scene more in the end.
