But just to briefly add to the schizo theories anyway: I find it very odd that Daniel was wearing a fallout costume and Ben had his head shaved for this announcement. They had only been down for like 3 days. Maybe they did indeed plan to continue and it just got canceled last minute when they realized it wouldn't work. Also, all of the speeches seemed genuine except for Daniel's which seemed way more rehearsed than the others and it also seemed like he was acting, badly. It rubbed me the wrong way immediately. This can also just be attributed to the fact that he is autistic.

Something tells me that all the BTS photos appearing online and the finale "livestream" are all out of chronological order. Finale was prerecorded, they just told the fish to keep quiet until after they posted the finale video.

The way I read this is more Sodaman got fired tbh. He locked his account like a week or more ago and removed "head of personnel at Bloodgames" from his bio at the same time, which was long before the shutdown and there's no way Sam had made the decision to nuke everything that early. I really hope BG2 is still happening. This is all Xavier's said on the matter:

Sam might not be "on" all the time, but when he is, he creates some of the best moments. i really do think hes needed for Fishtank to be at its full potential. you think Jet or Ben would have been kicking Freddy around?

Sam's role is necessary because he's the only person on the show that everyone respects and/or fears. He's as close to a boss as they've got, and I have a hard time imagining a replacement host being able to pull the authority over the cast AND crew that Sam has.

A new host would be a figurehead and everyone knows it. There will be blood in the water if that happens.

I believe he meant the buyback was a joke in that they wouldn't charge them the 8k just to come back, not that they wouldn't be asked to come back at all.

Which is good, because there's no way any of them would still have the 8k except maybe Direnc.
