The fish were given a choice for who to stay, Brian or Thomas. They eventually chose for Thomas to stay. It's important to note that the fish were mostly indecisive and then Jet grilled them for "playing the game wrong" by keeping the strong players here and then some fish changed their votes. Brian was essentially kicked off for being a better competitor than Thomas which makes sense for the game itself but is really gay for the show itself. Brian has been mostly nontent for the past few days but he's a more interesting character overall than Thomas (who is being forced through his narrative, though has been trying a bit more in challenges).

You'll never convince me that Brian wasn't an actor. Either way I don't care that he's gone. I do wish TJ had gone before him though.

edit: So what about the Nifty check joke? Did they really waste money on that for nothing?
If Brian was an actor (There are no actors on fishtank) he was a terrible one. Constantly breaking the fourth wall by bringing up making content and being whiny as shit.

I disagree, Brian thought way too much about production and how he was being looked at by the audience, and it made him come across as stale and fake. He was too self aware, and not likable enough to be someone you can root for as an overall winner. TJ may be quiet and kind of a pushover, but that's why it's fun to see him get forced out of his shell. He's genuine enough to act like a weirdo unintentionally and he falls for production bits every time, which makes for better content. He has potential for self improvement, and has been through two really good arcs already, both of which he was clearly taking seriously.

His terrible acting (plus being called in the show last minute) is why I think he's an actor. And again, when I say actor I don't mean he's being told to act this way, I mean he's basically a free loader but the other fish don't know it.

If he's not an actor then he is the most pathetic and inauthentic fish I've seen.

^That's a good description, the show will be better without him whining and trying to dissect every bit as it happens. Production needs to remember this for the future and try to avoid bringing on people who are overly self-aware. I'm looking forward to the decrease in fourth-wall breaking now that he's gone. It's the one thing that really kills the show and Brian was responsible for a lot of it.

remember that thing that i said over the summer about how they can't just ride the loudest most interesting people in the house or they'll end up with a bunch of quiet coasting assholes again

yeah
Having a loud retard is nice but it encourages production to be lazy because then they don’t have to work as hard to make interesting setups for content. But I think another major issue is that they allow cliques to form and run on for way too fucking long. It’s just like when we were approaching the final stretch in s1 and everyone outright refused to fuck with anyone that wasn’t Letty.
Just to give you an idea of how bad it is without him at this point, they were without jimmy for five minutes and the conversation slowed down to the point Trisha went "I just feel like there's nothing to talk about." Without an energic fish all these tryhards would just sit there twiddling their thumbs, Jimmy is the last real fish who's majorly interesting so the show will keep on pivoting around him and his shenanigans.
They’re not low energy, they can do fucked up shit to each other. They didn’t have a problem fucking with cole, they didn’t have a problem fucking with nifty! Or even being bitchy towards summer! Once a clique forms and if you’re vulnerable (mainly physically) in some sort of way you WILL be the nail that gets hammered down. This clique bullshit kills any incentive for anyone to be standout or unique. It’s better to have a free for all of hate and save the focused campaign for when it’s time to get someone booted.

Here’s an autistic suggestion for season 3: how about providing some way for fish to cope with fucking with people they like? Take a page from hotline Miami’s book and give fish mask’s with “names”, give some sort of stupid lore that the masks possess you to do fucked up shit. Then when fish fuck with each other they can just put on this mask and take on a persona that they can blame for fucking with people they like.

You think Brian is an actor because he's terrible at acting and by actor you don't mean an actor you mean a freeloader. Makes sense.
