I have had a twitter account since 2015 and I have tweeted in total less than 90 times in all that time. Its an extremely cursed site I wouldn't even use were it not for professional reasons.

I cannot even begin to fathom how these people tweet all day. How this is their...hobby? If thats what you do all day then you don't do anything else and therefore by definition cannot have anything interesting to say. Slug might be the ur-example of this, especially with that store brand Slate magazine television criticism.

Oh, how interesting. The back rent is paid off. We’ll have to remember that in three weeks’ time when he’s wailing that he needs $4500 by TOMORROW or he’s going to be homeless.

I just love how matter-of-fact he is about it. No “I hate to ask,” no promises that he’s looking for work, no reassurance that he’s not going to keep doing this. Slug claims, between the various monthly begs, to be recieving at absolute minimum $2500 per month (rent beg + grocery/meds beg + phone beg + the odd little side beg for "treats."

Edit to add: In terms of the looking into his twitter grifting, I've been poking around. There's no real pattern to retweets by big accounts, and it doesn't happen often. I'm expanding to look into the #transcrowdfund tags he uses to see if there's any solid meat there, but so far I'm not hopeful. It's gruel for days.
He seems to get the odd donation from randos who happen to be browsing the hashtag, more than directly from his audience or retweets.
