I actually (sorta slightly) believe Sean on this but I guarantee you that he's applying for positions similar to his last one while not acknowledging he hasn't worked in almost five years now and that was his only job in the field immediately after finally graduating from college. He's almost 50!
Yeah, it sucks if you need to take a step down (or more) just to grab something but every year you put off is another step down you have to take to get back. He's always really vague about it. He has a lot of animosity towards HR saying he went to them about mental health issues and they fucked him. I'm betting he got pinched being creepy and ran to HR to claim a mental breakdown after the fact.

He probably started openly talking about his gross fetishes and someone complained anonymously.
