1080 for rent? if you're broke or in danger of becoming broke, you should find cheaper housing before pretty much anything else. break your fucking lease, pay the fee while you have cash (some places will even accept payment plans if you have otherwise good credit) and cut your housing bill in half. $400 for monthly car maintenance? wtf even is that?

Eh, depends on the location. If you live in NY or LA you can't even rent a clost for 1100/month.

I'm not sure about NYC, but I know in most metro areas people with lower income move to the suburbs or shitty ghetto areas to save on rent; you can find a place with a roommate in a not-closet apartment paying 500-600 if you go further out. most of the fats seem to refuse to do that and end up getting 30 roommates instead, tho that's just anecdotal
