Scammers are letting me call them

Earlier today, I got a phone call from (807) 700-1599, and when I called them back, some nice folks at the "Microsoft Support Department" offered to renew my subscription to their "Microsoft Subscription Service" for $299. This was to cover "anti-hacking, anti-virus, and stuffs".

I'm certain, if you act now, you can get the exact same offer. They are also extremely professional and would never, ever call me a "dirty motherfucking asshole" because I asked a simple question about the service.

Scambaiting is hilarious. The 419Eater forum is a great source for written 419, Nigerian Prince, scams and there are various youtube channels that do the call scams like you just worked. KitBoga is a canuck who have a youtube and also does them live on twitch with full characters he pretends to be and there is a fair amount of chat participation. He's got a great system with virtual machines, spoofed phone numbers, etc. Scambaiting is a great time and the best part is that you're wasting the time of some asshole who would otherwise be talking to someone's senile grandmother.

Just to clear up a question or talking point common when discussing these scams, the people at the top of these scam organizations know how bad their scams are. In Nigeria these scam groups are generally part of loose organized crime groups. I don't know about the Indian call centers and how independent they might be. These scams make billions per year. Scammers are trying to get people to agree to send money as quick as possible so the scams are self selecting. Who would fall for these blatant scams? The elderly or tech illiterate, someone going through an emotional period after a profound loss like that of a close family member, someone who is disabled or has a low IQ. They do not want someone who will ask questions. They want someone who will write checks and they've found that people who reply to these obviously low quality scams often will. Individual scammers are usually morons themselves, but the people employing and directing them know what they're doing and do it for a purpose.

I kept getting a call saying that my car insurance is going to run out every few months. I don't have a car. Even weirder, every so often I get random calls from numbers that ask to talk to some guy I've never heard of (and now his wife apparently) even though I've told them repeatedly that I don't know them and they don't live here.
 
I keep hoping for one of the ones where they tell you one of your relatives is being held hostage, and you have to send them a bunch of money to get them free. So far, no luck. :(

I'm going to call the tax scam folks and tell them I have their mom hostage and they need to send 29.95 immediately
