Schedule I is a game about producing and selling drugs that entered Steam early access on March 25, the name being a reference to U.S. drug law. It soon went viral, with an all-time high of over 450,000 concurrent players. The publisher of the much smaller drug-related games, Drug Dealer Simulator 1&2, is "investigating" whether or not Schedule I infringes on their copyright. May the worst fate come to Movie Games S.A. Archived article about the investigation: https://archive.is/yhHyW
Anyways, I've put almost 50 hours into this game and noticed there's no thread for it so here we go.

Here's the development roadmap: https://trello.com/b/VQQpru3F/schedule-i-roadmap

Some tips and tricks I picked up on the way:
  • Buy the golden skateboard ASAP. It's faster than vehicles and is the best $1,500 you can spend
  • Don't spend too much time or effort in making mixes. If you really want to mix, a good one-step mix is OG Kush + Mouthwash. But, if your production is being bottlenecked in any way by the mixing process you'd be better off just selling raw product.
  • One exception to not making mixes is to make mixes for your own personal use. You can smoke your own drugs and the effects can be beneficial. Athletic, for example, will make you run faster, sneaky will make getting around at night easier, etc.
  • When customers message you for an order, you can negotiate which product to sell (click on the name), how much of it to sell, and at what price. Every customer has a soft limit to how much they'll spend on a deal so try experimenting on who will pay for more.
  • When you schedule your deals, always schedule them for late night. Any deals made after curfew have a 20% bonus, it's literally free money. On top of that, time freezes at 4AM so it's impossible for any late night deals to expire unless you go to sleep.
  • Focus on unlocking dealers. Find them in the Contacts app and find the customers who are linked to the dealer of a given area. Focus on giving those customers good deals to increase their friendship faster so they'll refer you to the dealer.
  • Dealers will automatically split jars and bricks, ie if you give a dealer a brick of meth and someone wants to buy a jar, the dealer will split the brick into 4 jars and sell 1. This means you should only be stocking your dealers with jars of product until you unlock the brick press and then only stock them with bricks.
    • It's also generally a good idea to only sell 1 type of product. Item stack sizes are pretty limited so just focusing on 1 product helps keep everything organized.
    • You can also unpack bricks/jars/baggies by placing them into a packaging station and clicking the arrow to put it into unpack mode.
  • Once you unlock meth it's generally a good idea to completely change to solely producing meth. It sells for about double that of weed and is much less labor-intensive to make.
  • When unlocking new customers, make a blended drug suited to their favorite effects. You can use this site to figure out the cheapest way to get an effect (the site has been having stability issues lately, likely a shitload of people trying to use it).
    • It's also a good idea to use a drying rack to create one stack of heavenly weed for unlocking new customers as the higher quality will give you increased odds of success. Heavenly product doesn't sell for more so don't waste your time selling it, just use it or free samples.
  • Once you unlock the bungalow and get a bit of money stacked up start working on automating your production. An optimal meth lab in the bungalow can produce around 100 meth crystals a day.
  • Once you start automating production and need to restock your employees a lot, buy the Veeper van. It costs like $9,000 but it has 16 inventory slots which makes it very useful for making big runs to the gas station.

I like how this game came out in the same window as AC Shadows and ate its fucking lunch.
Yea, it has more concurrent players than several AAA games combined :story:

Who would win,
over a billion dollars of development from huge studios:

I bought it when I saw it on the front page of steam and was like "wtf is this awful looking ad". Got about 12 hours in and feel like I got my money's worth, but kinda hit a wall right now. Game of course is early access and developers probably made buckets to fund it for years. Game's really lacking mid and late game content right now. Whole cycle is just to grind to get money and you've got nothing to really do with the money except buy a bigger and bigger building. Also, the police are barely a threat and I know that police raids are on the roadmap.

Friends and I are getting to 10+ rounds in R.E.P.O., so I got Schedule 1 to see if we're gonna go in on the new flavor of the month. I like it so far, I just got the chinese apartment.

I got bummed out when I realized the whole "rival cartel" thing is totally unimplemented. The gameplay loop breaks at about the mid-point because of the total lack of oppositional forces. The cops are a fucking joke I've never come close to being arrested. Combat is essentially not part of the gameplay despite there being weapons.

I'd say hold off on playing this game until more "story" content is implemented.

Same. I need to upgrade mine because it's a dinosaur and I can't do much with it.

I watched some of Asmongold's play through of this game - the shitty way he plays the game makes me MATI.
I honestly have no idea where to even start to do it. Whenever I look into it I realize it's way expensive and I can't justify it for just a few games. I think console life is the future I'm destined for.

I haven't watched Asmon's because his gameplay typically bugs the shit out of me. I have caught Critikal's videos playing it and I usually don't care for his videos either he made it look really interesting.

There’s a strain effect named Tropic Thunder that temporarily turns you into a nigger when you smoke it lol
Yea, and the ingredient that causes the effect is viagra :story:
On the plus side, it also turns brown people white so you could assign all the darkies to one dealer and give that dealer a Tropic Thunder drug lol

Been absolutely loving this game, taking my time with it instead of meta-gaming it all.
It's been like a decade plus since a game sucked me in this much, it's like being a teenager after a new CoD release all over again.

Probably the first & last time I buy into FOTM stuff but damn it's good. Just hoping the dev keeps working at it and doesn't pull a Battlebit of taking the money & running.

time freezes at 4AM
I've been abusing this as Meth continues to cook whilst weed stops growing, the NPCs all have houses you can go to and sell direct. You don't get the 20% bonus but their cool-down between deals still ticks, the patrols stop and only 2 police are out and they stand in front of the warehouse you unlock access to later. You can also take the wood boxes that are lying around and use them to build a wall to block the view the officers have on the road to their left to make driving past them easier, they don't stay after sleeping or quitting the game so you do have to restack them. You can also pickpocket the customers and call your drugs what ever name you want. I do indeed call each of my products some variation of the nigger word.
