Schedule I

Been fucking playing this piece of shit game non-stop for the past couple of days, haven't been able to check out Monster Hunter Wilds' new title update because of how hooked I've become on Schedule I.
I swear this game tickles my autism just right and has probably been more detrimental to my daily life than crack was to the average african-american household.

Saw it as the new streamer-bait FOTM; but is it good? $20 is right outside my $15 impulse buy range.

Looks like my kind of 'tism though.

I love it. I think the biggest complaint is that it currently starts to fall off in the mid-late game but for me I like to optimize my setups. I've been doing a shit-ton of experimenting that I'll add to the OP once I'm done. Point being there's a lot more to the late game if you like to autistically optimize your automated meth labs/coca farms like I do. The dev also has a pretty big roadmap with big content additions like rival cartels: https://trello.com/b/VQQpru3F/schedule-i-roadmap
Even if it is FOTM that doesn't mean you won't enjoy it or can't play it for years.

It's been worth the 20 bucks to me so far and I am optimistic that the guy developing it will flesh it out in time. I'm probably going to continue to burn myself out on the addictive gameplay loop and check it out again in a year or so.

Play the free demo, see how you like it.

It scratches my itch. Seems like the dev released it so he could get enough money to work on it full time. Beta branch just released a whole bunch of shit Sunday night.

I told a friend, and I stand by it: after this first deluge of new features get pushed and the major bugs get fixed, expect it to slow down. It's just one guy right now, and these are all things he probably already had in the works or needed a stress test. It will be a month or two, but we'll see if he crashes and burns or sells to a studio. Either way, it can be as chill or as sweaty as you want. I put over 40 hours into it in 3 days, even with all of the bugs, and I don't regret a single minute.

I heard they're getting sued or something.
What's going on with that?
The publisher of drug dealer simulator 1&2 started "investigating" whether or not Schedule I violates their copyright. They made a response clarifying there's no lawsuit yet
Dear Gamers,

We’d like to address your Schedule I / Drug Dealer Simulator publication and share some facts regarding the situation.

1. There is no lawsuit.
2. It is not our intention to prevent TVGS from selling or developing their game.
3. There is an investigation into the nature of similarities between the games since a preliminary legal analysis indicated there might have been an infringement.
4. The analysis and investigation were necessary in the light of repeating opinions that the games are very similar. By not investigating it, Movie Games, being a publicly traded company, could face severe consequences for negligence.
5. The above was communicated only via ESPI, a stock market communication system, where we are obligated to publish such information for full transparency. Not publishing it would also be a case of negligence. From there it was picked up by the media and, in some cases, wrongly reported as a lawsuit.
6. The above is handled only by Movie Games, the publisher, not Byterunners, the developer of Drug Dealer Simulator. The developer is not involved in it whatsoever.

There is no ill will towards TVGS. We even mailed them best wishes shortly before the release, when the game was already huge, but before the investigation was deemed necessary. However, we are obligated to perform this investigation, act accordingly to the scope of the infringement if it is confirmed, and inform the public about it via ESPI.

Best wishes,
Movie Games

I’m only a dozen or so hours in, but it’s actually pretty fun. I hope the dev (devs?) takes the shitload of money they’ve made and makes meaningful improvements.

I’m sort of mid game and am already fearing putting another 12 hours because I feel the gameplay is going to hit a wall. With that being said, it’s a really solid foundation that can offer a lot more entertainment if they add to it meaningfully.

If you have friends yeah, alone probably not. I play with some friends and we assign each other jobs and then get bored and get in each others' way and start making weird shit to make it more addictive and start smoking the product. It's like starting a business with friends. The actual game itself is sorta cookieclicker. If you have some imagination you can roleplay. You could sell the good stuff only to Aryan meth enjoyers and give POC customers stuff you laced with gasoline. You could beat up women with baseball bats after selling them viagra-laced cocaine then run from the cops. It's EA so there's not a whole lot of consequences from anything you do but you can do it.

You won't hit a wall until like 30+ hours.

Been playing this.

Best tip I can give new players is to pick up the grow lamps, pots and packaging table before leaving the RV.

edit - also if you want a cheat engine table that works well, I just used it to make items stack to 9999 as it's annoying carrying 20 of things

Lame ass publicly traded companies, mostly penny stocks, constantly spam news wire services with ridiculous "bullish" news all the time. Some CEO will sign up for a gmail account and suddenly announce their partnership with Google.

There's no requirement that publicly traded companies pre-announce every not-actual-lawsuit they investigate potentially doing. Movie Games appears to be trying to conflate their duty to shareholders with their sleazy attempt to advertise to newswire trading bots and stupid retailers.

I'd never work with a corporation that did this. It's some pink sheet OTC boiler room type crap. Clearly the CEO is not focused on actually publishing games, but pumping his stock.

Cheating, or even using glitches that alter the progression of the gameplay is really cheating yourself out of the main gameplay mechanic. Give yourself all the money, buy all the property, fill it with gold bars. I guess. Game over.

This is why the cartel stuff is really needed. I just bought the farm and I'm considering dropping the game until further updates because the inevitable grind leads to nowhere interesting, nowhere at all. You bought the gold skateboard? Congrats, play shitty Tony Hawk.

It's a fun game, I'm just really bummed out about the lack of mid-game content. This game would improve so much if you just had random spawn hostile dealers. I can easily imagine having to shoot the dealers and performs HQ raids to take over territory. Right now you just hand out samples freely and boom you own the territory. Cops don't give a fuck.
