It's more like @Kiwi Yuga points out in his post that there's some issues with how it was done which raises questions about it's validity and the ability to draw conclusions from it. It's an interesting result essentially, but needs to be verified with properly conducted studies.

I know TRAs love to spread bad science around whenever something slightly points in their favour (see: the girl brainz one), but for whatever reason never acknowledges the faults in the studies (like checking for homosexuality) and never tries to push for follow-up studies to adress issues. I don't see the point in pushing a study that has obvious flaws to it to the forefront (well, except to piss people like Tony Reed off I guess). It's better to wait and hope that the authors actually release a proper one eventually.

I need to find the article about how the methodology applied in studies on trans subject over the last 10 years is crap.

This is what's so insidious about all the FtM's who start taking testosterone and feel less depressed, more confident, etc. They take that as proof that they are really men, the transition is working, and so on, when they're essentially tweaking their brain chemistry to artificially dampen their natural state of depression and insecurity. Which, fine I guess, taking antidepressants to do the same thing has its own problems which are well documented and society is gradually becoming more aware of, but the problem is all the physical effects that come from women overdosing on testosterone — it totally wrecks the body, damages the heart and liver and sex organs, not to mention the roid rage it can cause. They literally would be a million times better off if they started going to therapy, lifting weights, and eating vegetables. I know, of me, but that needs to be the first-line treatment for all this shit.

Edit: And I mean real therapy, not the "gender affirming" kind. A real therapist helps you identify the problems in your life and in your thinking, and gives you the tools and guidance to start fixing those problems. DBT is a good place to start for most mental illnesses imo.
