Well, Volition found the original source code. They did say they would optimize the PC version in time. AND include the DLC.

Steam recently adopted a similar stipulation on their developers agreement that marketing materials are not to promote other platforms and venues, not sure if putting, say EGS or GOG on a trailer is promotion or just acknowledging the existence alongside Steam.
