I saw a reply that summed it up well
“That's not right, I definitely have male relationships that weren't centered around implied violence"
"Ah, but have you tried violently sexual assaulting him?"

With the "implied violence" thing he probably means that any interaction within men that is disrespectful will immediately turn into a fight. His finger in asshole example was probably a jokey way to exemplify that but was utterly retarded and unfunny.

Wtf? Is Seanbaby still alive?

I’ll try to look this up. Do you know what the title is or when it was uploaded?
I got the archived YouTube page from wayback machine after finding a dead link in this blogpost, but the video itself is not archived. Title is "Scott Adams and Kristina Basham watch the debate with you \ 2016.09.26"

It was uploaded to YT on September 27 2016, but was recorded on Periscope live during the second debate, which was Sept 26.

Holy shit I found it!

Periscope is defunct, but will still play videos linked via Twitter. I found the link in his tweet

Periscope HERE
I also archived the vid like a good little kiwi - vertical for some damn reason

Enjoy. She looks just thrilled to be there!
Literally bored to tears. Amazing.
Originally Scott did believe that his success was undeserved and was entirely due to luck. He'd joke about his lack of drawing skills and how all his comic ideas were just stolen from the emails that people would send him.

Adams premise of his first book is that useless employees become managers and get promoted because they don't have any valuable skills. Which was inspired by his own history of managing engineers who were way more qualified. He was the Pointy Haired Boss, not Dilbert.

At some point in the mid-late 90s his ego must have overcome his self-awareness. Or he just stopped pretending to be humble in public and started trying to disprove gravity.
A lot of people who do that jokey self-deprecation do it in hopes that if they jump out pre-emptively about whatever they are insecure about, that will head off any jokes that get made at their expense about it. He can pretend to laugh at himself about failing upwards but if you make a joke about it, he will get buttblasted, as we see with the Dilbert parody comics. Compare that to how Bill Watterson handles the decals of Calvin pissing on various things.

I get a real sense of insecurity from him these days. It’s like he’s ashamed of the fact that he’s famous for a comic. He keeps trying to push himself as this polymath genius, when in reality, the only reason his other ventures get any air at all is because he’s the Dilbert guy. The fact that he disses other people by using #artist says it all - he considers being a cartoonist to be “unworthy” somehow.

It’s kind of sad. Dilbert had an impact on pop culture. I’ll admit that I used to enjoy it when I worked in a corporate environment. There’s no shame in being known for comic strips, look at the respect people have for Charles M Schultz or Bill Watterson.

Dilbert’s peak was in the mid to late 1990s. Some of it could be shame from being a comic guy but doing the same middlebrow comic day in and day out has to be painful. I’m not surprised he’s trying to branch out to do other things. He’s not very good at it but I understand him trying.

She just couldn't keep up the pretence for that long. I bet she had the father of her baby lined up already.
I love how the first time he even acknowledges her existence is to turn to her creepily and say
“They’re asking to see more of you..”
And all she can muster is an uncomfortable chuckle, which he instantly follows by saying
“Stay focused guys”
If you don’t want people to mention your wife, then why is she even here?

I'm glad Bill Watterson has remained a recluse during the social media age, because his Twitter would be unbearable.

Same shit that happens to stand-up comics and internet reviewers. They become famous for 'frivolous' entertainment, and think that they need to be something more legitimate and intellectual. And because they have fans that listen to their opinions, their opinion on every topic is equally valid. Or maybe its just cause he's a bored rich guy who can coast by on minimal effort. He's Joe Rogan with autism.

If Scott Adams resents being the Dilbert guy, it must be a chore looking out his back window every day.
