I decided to look into his book the religion war, about Christians and Muslims having a war that will destroy the world.

The world is saved because someone comes up with the phrase "If God is so smart why do you fart" which becomes a meme and causes everyone to stop believing in God.

I'm not joking.
It sounds like it's supposed to be funny satire but it just comes off as retarded.

"If God is so smart why do you fart" which becomes a meme and causes everyone to stop believing in God.

Adams believes in a kind of magic words pseudoscience.

Back around 2016 he used to go on about "Master Wizards" that knew just the right combo of words to unlock a hypnotizing ability on people.

Trump was of course one of these people because of the "only Rosie O'Donnell" line. The founding fathers too because of "We the People" has this same hypnotic effect.

He dropped the "wizard" part near the end of 2016 and deleted mentions in the blog comments. I think he discovered the incel use of wizard and backed off as fast a possible.

Thanks for the OP. Before this I was unaware of the sheer exceptionalism that is Scott Adams.

The Libertarian Party (and Libertarianism in general) seems to have a number of fringe orbiters who have similar views to Adams (that parents should have absolute power over their children until age 18 or 21, often including the "rights" to murder or rape said children, that 3rd trimester abortion and infanticide should be permissible, as well as other dumb stuff like legalization of duelling). These retards used to be common in the comments section of Reason Magazine, if anyone wants a look.

What happened to that WhenApp thing he was shilling? Does anyone know?

Also, why the fuck was Adams scared that "civilisation would collapse" because of COVID-19 (during his unhinged "Real Coffee" livestream rant)?

That makes no sense at all. Then again, very little of this guy's "deep thinking" does.

I really can't believe libertarians would believe in something so nakedly authoritarian like that. Do they even know what libertarianism/classic liberalism is?

Highly doubt it. They would usually claim that their pet concept would in some way lead to lower taxes, and was therefore "Libertarian". I'm not talking about people who could quote John Stuart Mill from memory here!

"It was just a thought experiment!" was also the go-to excuse when they were (inevitably) called on their bullshit - this is what brought this crowd to mind when reading this thread.

I'm trying to find the wannabe duellist at the moment because he was by far the most prolific ‐ his proposal was that duelling replace litigation in civil matters, and that being umpire for this be a civic duty like jury duty. (I think he also wanted lawless "duelling reserves" set up). This brilliant idea would allow for the abolition of the civil courts so there would be fewer taxes to pay.

Not that guy, but similar arguments:

I consider myself a Libertarian (but mostly vote Republican) and I don’t subscribe to this bullshit one bit. In fact I had no idea these people existed LOL.

Ooooh, I've been looking forward to this one. Great post, OP.
I would say that Scott is on the same path that Joe Biden is going down right now. When I was subjected to listening to his livestreams he would constantly go back and forth on how Trump was the answer America was looking for, oh wait no, Trump's an asshole, oh wait no, it's Biden we don't like, wait.. no. What was I saying? Oh right - the COVID-19 pandemic was somehow caused by Hunter Biden so therefore we should be mad at the democrats... right.

I used to know someone who was so obsessed with Scott Adams, they could've applied to be his professional cocksucker. This person was why I was (unfortunately) forced to listen to his livestreams. Whenever I heard Scott's grating, whiney voice or when they would line up their coffee sips with him, I could've sworn I would cringe so hard I could collapse into myself. This person has now faded into an almost schizophrenic-like Twitter obsessed coompilled life, so I can't comment on where they're currently at in life, but they definitely gave me true insight on Scott Adams and the kind of people who genuinely agree with what he has to say

He used to call Katrina "my nextdoor neighbour" before they started dating. So if I understand correctly he:
- Bought/rented the expensive house near his for her and her son
- Gave her a sugar daddy allowance true and honest job at his startup
- Then said it has his amazing hypnotizing abilities that made her fall in love with him
- Buy my tard book to learn how to do the same!
Oh my, such cringe. He cleaned up all of those terms before cashing in with his book.
line up their coffee sips with him
I've seen a few YouTubers do that. It's like an influencer dark pattern now.

I tried watching one of Mr. Adams' recorded livestreams and tapped out about 10 minutes in, so concentrated was the combination of idiocy and arrogance.

Things I learned:
  1. Adams' "shithole town" revoked a mask rule for schoolchildren. Freaking out about Covid from our Scott ("I suppose that means the SCIENCE is changing blah blah") and stupid suggestions of things for schoolkids to do in the interim before the revocation takes effect.
  2. A "this TOTALLY happened" story about Newsweek "back when it was still Important" asking him for a picture of Dilbert for the cover and him refusing because they A/B tested their covers.
  3. Vague crap about Ukraine.
  4. Commentary about some dude on TV having a Tesla and not having to pay for petrol, also how this guy is shit for evading the energy price increase (like he thinks that electric cars cost nothing to run)?
  5. Something about the CEO of DuckDuckGo wanting to label results from Russian government news sources as being such - this led to dumb shit about "but what if they want to then label NPR as American government? I don't think Americans will stand for that!"
  6. Fucking stupid shit about NLP(a worthless pseudoscience technique sold to salesmen etc. to improve their job performance) and how he got into it. This is where my bullshit tolerance was exceeded.
Looks like he has a freakout about COVID on every stream. Also, I'm sure he's really beloved in his home town, with how he casually shit-talks it.

Oh, and @Blacked ,his app is called WhenHub, not WhenApp as you wrote in the OP. I can't find much about what it does - he shills it on his LinkedIn, which I don't have access to.

Adams is an ignoramus and his head looks like an egg.

One thing I’ve noticed about Scott (much like many other mindless Twitter users) is that he flip flops his opinion on COVID constantly.
When the pandemic first began, he belittled people for wearing masks and staying at home, calling them fearful of a made up disease and how people were sheep for believing it, etc etc etc. The last time I was forced to listen to his bullshit ramblings was March 2022, and then he was preaching about how masks work.

He definitely changes his opinions frequently (in order to garner the most views from certain audiences I reckon), either that or he’s going through the first sprinklings of Alzheimer’s. Half the time he can barely remember his stance on certain topics and it makes him sound extremely confused.

Found some stuff about WhenHub by looking into the site www.whenhub.com, which Adams mentions in the shill tweets pasted in the OP.

In 2017, the app concept was that of making short informational "whencasts" which could be pasted to the planned app and updated with time. The site had a demo of this:

2017 WhenHub, see bottom for some "whencasts"

In 2020 the focus changed dramatically (as did the app name, to "WhenHub INTERFACE"). Now "qualified" people signed on as "advisors" whom app users could consult at an hourly rate. There was also a promise that if your "organisation" signed up 5 or more "advisors", you would get up to US$100K - in Adams' new altcoin, the WHEN token(depending, of course, on how much money they brought in).

This version was apparently available for Apple, Microsoft and Android.

I presume that people were actually using the old site and this awakened Scott's latent greed. At around this time (Q1 of 2020) budding cryptobros were also starting to buy anything and everything "blockchain", so there was an attempt to capitalize on this too.

2020 WhenHub along with WHEN token bullshit

In December of 2020 the website broke and stopped displaying graphics correctly. This was never fixed.

Whenhub in terminal state of decay

In 2021 the site had devolved to a upload portal for MS apps and what looks like a section for scripts for the rapid production of such apps. It does not seem to be associated with Adams any more.

2021 - Start uploading!

Today the site is owned by GoDaddy, that esteemed consortium which enriches all our lives by providing the service of IP squatting.

I would say Adams got too greedy and priced himself out of the market. I'm surprised that he even tried this shit on. Most of his potential customers would probably remember the "Betterhelp" flameout and avoid downloading something so blatantly similar, which is before his exorbitant fees are even taken into consideration.

If I have time later today I'll look into the WHEN token and see if there was anything funny going on there.

I got hold of a copy of the white paper for WHEN thanks to a single archive of the pdf on archive.org. I'll be including this at the end of my post.

This particular white paper looks like a dodgy company's prospectus. The first few pages are very short of text and profusely illustrated.

The use case for WHEN can be summarized as: WhenHub exists. People use WhenHub. Because of certain improvements to the app which totally can't be divulged because of patents which are being applied for, this app will somehow become based on the blockchain. This makes it essential to use cryptocurrency on WhenHub instead of USD. WHEN is the cryptocurrency which will solve this problem. Also, this is totally not a rugpull because we have working apps on the Apple and Google stores so we're not going anywhere.

This isn't the worst use case I have seen, as I've seen Mr. Ice Poseidon's CxCoin use case, and this is certainly better than that one. That doesn't mean it's fantastic though.

Adams also attempts to justify the need for WhenHub. In his opinion, people, especially contract workers, work too little. He claims that there is a lot of wasted time in the gaps between periods of work. WhenHub will solve this problem by letting these people fill these lacunae of "wasted time" with productive work.

I didn't go too deeply into the technical stuff except that WHEN is Ethereum-derived, like most other altcoins. If someone who is more versed in this field than myself could give that part a going over, I'd appreciate it.

How the token would be used in practice:

Loser downloads WhenHub —> Loser buys WHEN(probably from Adams) to use on app —> Loser pays "expert" WHEN for "consultation" —> expert tries to cash out and takes a hit.

But wait! Surely I am mischaracterizing so distinguished a man as Scott Adams! The "WHEN ecosystem" is probably flourishing to this day - or is it?

The following chart is courtesy of coingecko.com. It is a plot of WHEN price and volume traded from launch to today.

chart.jpeg

Top graph is price against time, the following one is volume traded against time.

Shortly after launch, in July 2019, there is significant volume of trade in the token along with a price spike. This was probably due to WhenHub users buying WHEN to use on the app (and probably some Scott Adams fanboys buying to hold). If it were found out that a large proportion of this volume originated from wallets held or controlled by Scott Adams, I would not faint in shock.

July 2019 to about June 2020 sees low-volume trade with the token value taking a plunge then fluctuating at a very low level. This is probably "experts" frantically trying to cash out selling to a trickle of new users.

In June 2020 volume traded goes to almost nothing and the price hits the floor. (Late 2020 was also when WhenHub's website broke down). It's very possible that the apps were either pulled from or kicked off the distribution platforms at this time. This would invalidate the use case and flush whatever minuscule investor confidence remaining in the WHEN altcoin right down the shitter.

At present liquidity is so low that anyone holding this rubbish would have to trickle it onto the exchanges in minute amount hoping to get any offers at all. Scott Adams would probably consider this a "gap" of useless activity in that person's schedule and tell him to find something productive to do.

Apologies if I sound MATI. Mr. Fucking Adams' condescending attitude and hypocrisy really gets on my wick. I'm going to stand aside for a while to avoid rageposting.

If someone else wants to, maybe look for reviews of his shitty app on archived web versions of the Play Store and Apple Store (I know Google's one has a website, pretty sure Apple's too)

OP, the grift isn't just political here. Maybe amend the description to include this "web3" dodgy dealing.

As promised, the WHEN white paper follows. Scott, the internet is forever, even if your website is not.

It's sad: I followed him around 2014/2017 when "woke" started getting big and Scott was something of a breath of fresh air. I also had a lot of scientist/engineer coworkers who swore by how smart and insightful Scott was. I don't know if they knew about his "Affirmations" beliefs (I think this should be discussed in more detail in the OP as that is Rhonda Byrne's "The Secret" level of apeshit crazy).

His religious beliefs as well as this affirmations beliefs seems to be based on New Though philosophy, a form of American idealism (Mind constructs reality) and Proto New age.

It is nothing too out of the ordinary, his experience as a hypnotist probably convinced him of this philosophical view.

It is worth noting that such idealism is not solely philosophical and religious movements if you search you will find some researches and academics agree with such view of mind contracting reality.
