Hundreds of media cancel Dilbert comic strip

Major media publishers cancel the comic strip "Dilbert." Its creator had described people with dark skin as members of a "hate group" - and urged whites to stay away from them.

Scott Adams, the creator of the popular comic strip "Dilbert," is facing a series of terminations. He had called black members of a "hate group" that whites should "stay away from." Various media publishers in the U.S. condemned the Dilbert creator's remarks as racist, hateful and discriminatory and said they would no longer provide a platform for his works. According to CNN, the total number of newspapers and magazines involved is hundreds.

The organization Andrews McMeel Syndication, which distributes "Dilbert," did not yet respond to requests for comment. Adams himself defended himself on social media. "They hate me and want to do away with me," he commented on the media companies' decision.

"Dilbert" is a long-running comic poking fun at office culture. The outrage surrounding Adams had begun last week after an episode of the YouTube show "Real Coffee with Scott Adams."

In it, Adams referenced a poll by conservative polling firm Rasmussen Reports that found only 53 percent of black Americans fully agreed with the statement "It's okay to be white." According to CNN, the poll had been popularized in 2017 by members of the discussion forum 4chan, and some white supremacists also reportedly used it.

"Shun any group that doesn't respect you".
"If almost half of all black people disagree with white people - according to this poll, not according to me, but according to this poll - that's a hate group," Adams said.

"I want nothing to do with them," the cartoonist added. "And I would say the way things are going right now, the best advice I would give white people is to stay the hell away from black people."

Adams later wrote on Twitter that he was just advising people to avoid hate, saying the cancellation of his cartoon was a sign that freedom of expression in America is under attack. "Is it racist to avoid racists who are the same race as you? Or is it only racist if the racists you shun are white?" he asked.

In another episode of his online show, Adams said he wants "everyone to be treated as an individual" without discrimination. "But you should also avoid any group that disrespects you, even if there are people within that group who are OK."

The Los Angeles Times called Adams' comments "racist." The "San Antonio Express-News," said it would shut down the Dilbert comic as of Monday - "because of hateful and discriminatory public comments made by its creator." The USA Today Network expressed similar sentiments, as did numerous other publishers.

If SPIEGEL reports it there will be a flood of articles but they all will be copy+paste bc our press sucks even more than yours. If I should see something really retarded I'll post it.

I used to watch reruns of the old episodes of the Dilbert TV show online when I was a young autist in middle school. I never really gave it much thought before, but now looking back at the series as a adult, you really start to see bits of the creator within their own work. Upon rewatching, it seems like the show itself wasn't as witty as I had remembered.

A lot of the characters that you're supposed to be rooting for are either self inserts for Scott himself (Dilbert and Dogbert). And the characters that are portrayed as antagonists are morons, malicious or both (Pointy haired boss, the marketing team, director of HR Catbert). I get that Dilbert as a series is meant to be satirical, but it really prompts the question of how the person writing it views the world and others around them. It makes me actually want to talk to someone who really worked with Scott back when he was working as a engineer about what he was like to work with.

My favorite Scott Adams 'crime' was him bringing the Dilberito into existence.

>“Because of the veggie and legume content,” Adams notes here. “Three bites of the Dilberito made you fart so hard your intestines formed a tail.”
In many ways the Dilberito is quite similar to the episode of the Dilbert show where Dilbert creates that alternative food called the "Tomeato", but it turns out to be so unappealing to eat the third worlders it was marketed to start using it as a bomb because of it's explosive properties. What's funnier is I looked at the wikipedia page about the Dilberito and Scott says,
I figured I could put a dent in that problem and make some money at the same time.
Which is eerily similar to what Dilbert actually says in the show when Dogbert questions if he's inventing it just for fame, which Dilbert replies that fame might just be an inevitable consequence of creating a life changing product. It's really funny how much of Scott you actually see within Dilbert.

There have always been signs of his hostile attitudes within Dilbert. Like when people complained about his sexist character "Tina," he went the sarcastic route and made "Antina," a woman that acted like a man.
Which he dropped because people thought he was making fun of lesbians.

Then again, an early 1990s strip made fun of trans people when Dilbert went on a blind date that turned out to be a dog wearing a dress and was saving up for a "trans-species" operation.

Just more proof the Americandan State owns Germany still.

The Garfield guy just makes comics, cashes checks and keeps his mouth shut. Scott can learn alot from him.
On one hand, I'm somewhat annoyed at this "have your cake and eat it too" mindset of the more politically motivated.

"I publicly shouted to millions of people something that a sizable amount would be upset by, and now I'm less marketable. This is clearly everyone else's fault!"

On the other hand, creating and encouraging a society where any wrong word gets you marked for life does not help people share and evolve their feelings and beliefs. Instead you create a Pavlovian response where everyone hides the thoughts and feelings of the "real" them, and people as a whole become more insular and less genuine. Sure, at the end of the day no one has to platform you, but if you're shut out constantly by people while told they don't have to reason with you or even explain why you're wrong, what reason do you have to give the same generosity?

Unironically replacing "I hate x people" with "I hate poor people" would unite a majority of different discriminatory views. Poverty is one of if not the biggest factor in population crime statistics. The shitty behaviors of hood rats, wiggers, drug dealing spics, etc stem far more from poverty than anything inherent in the races of people. Further, the US has a major issue of its people glorifying shitty culture's so our poor aren't just scummy, their proud to be scummy.
no lol
even the absolute poorest white areas in america (desolate places in the appalachian mountains) have far lower crime rates than the absolute richest black majority areas

He is old and has fuck-you level money in the bank. He likely will still have royalty checks coming in even if he his "canceled" from the zombie newspaper industry. I think he will be just fine.

This all just seems like his edgelord way of retiring.

Frankly I'm amazed it took this long for the mindless horde to go after him.
I mean Scott has gotten widespread mockery before but this time he basically was beating a wasps nest like it’s a piñata. He probably doesn’t believe what he says and is just saying shit for attention as a way to retire

Holy shit, calm down
Elon musk and others have come to Scott defense in an unexpected escalation

And the ones in charge? White--or white passing (for those who want to name the JOO)

Solution: Identify every fucking white race traitor (including, and especially the Time Wise Schrodinger types) and deal with them with EXTREME prejudice. Rout them out. Shame them. Cancel them. Beat the shit out of them. Make THEM fear opening their mouths. Then the rest of the whites can FINALLY restore order and the social code. Niggers have two choices thereafter: FUCKING CHANGE and act human, or fuck the fuck off back to APEfrica and NO, you ain't welcome back here even to visit.

He is probably the most right wing author allowed to grace the pages of most newspaper publications. Being real, though, newspapers are on their way out so whatever.
