SCP Foundation - Creepypasta with roid rage - now ITT: SCP fans

- Better acknowledge the SCP Wiki burnout/mental breakdown problem. The SCP community should not serve as a replacement or stand-in for real life social circles but there are far too many people who treat it that way with or without realizing it. It's not healthy at all and it's a big part of the reason why it's so difficult for people to leave when they badly need to. A lot of the users who try to open up about it get laughed out by people caught in the same cycle.
Looking back on previous posts I made, you can see this in spades with how freaked out I was over getting permabanned, especially since quarantine made SCP wiki basically a hobby to me for a while. This can happen with any community, but the issue with the SCP wiki is that it reinforces this aspect of, well, the internet, by having so many little circles within circles, IRC chat within IRC chat, discussion pages within discussion pages. It can be very easy to get stuck in it. I was a member of the wiki for 5 years before my ban, which is definitely small compared to the numbers some of you guys have on here, but 5 years is more than enough to develop that dopamine loop that is so easy to get hooked on. Granted, you can look at my activity and see I did very little during that time, but I think my point still stands. Stay safe out there.

Edit:
Previous chat logs I've posted here show that well. In this one, she recommends banning meta immediately and have all staff block him so that he can't contact them to appeal or discuss what is to become of his work. Has this happened before? How many times has a banned user attempted to contact SCP staff to get their works down, but fail to because they've pulled this move... the public none the wiser? This is your staff?
Banning somebody, preventing the chance for appeal, and then blocking or ignoring their attempts to appeal again or discuss what's going on? This sounds strangely familiar to me.

In other news, I have heard absolutely nothing from any of the SCP staff (who haven't prematurely blocked me) on what the spooky mystery info is. I mean, we know what it is, they know what it is, but they can't afford to actually say it.

Do you want a real answer to this, or....?

- The SCP community has a real problem with fake friendships and clout chasing. It sucks for everyone involved and the direct community as a whole would be a lot less toxic if everyone wasn't so entangled.

- Quit it with the tribalism/hostility towards other writing communities. This isn't even a subtle nod towards RPC, some people take shit wayyy too seriously and I've seen many instances over the years of SCP writers sabotaging other people's projects because they think it's funny. It would also be nice if there wasn't such a kneejerk reaction to criticism of the SCP Wiki and/or its writing from people outside of it.

I didn't get blocked but Lily has been on AH since the reform and was the one who ignored me when I asked for updates on something I was trying to report. It might be a pattern.

For the vast majority of the SCP fandom this is true but there are exceptions. I remember the time Bluesoul casually mentioned that he spent $1,000 or so on buying equipment to make merch for his SCP-themed podcast. I think the reason was that he didn't want to use Redbubble. Sometimes I wonder if he ever broke even? I'm kinda impressed by his confidence.
To be fair to SCP I don't think those first 2 points are really the case anymore besides just general vitriol, I personally got banned from the wiki for what essentially amounted to going after the RPC too vehemently.

Procyon is on staff because nobody can tell him no. He has on multiple occasions used IRC data to contact banned members' ISPs, work, school, and parents to harass them in some manner or to scare them, and has openly bragged about it on numerous counts in public channels. You probably don't understand how accurate you are when you call him a lunatic. Bright is dangerous because he's a sex predator. Procyon is dangerous on a completely different level without even needing to be a predator. That should tell you all you need to know about him.

Now, add all of that to the fact that ALL staff can now actively access all of that information, as well as their geographic approximate location now with their new SCP IRC server.
Do you have specific times when Procyon has done this? I'd like to see if I can find anything in Roget/Harmony's logs, but I don't want to spend hours digging for nothing.

None in specific, these are just things I'd seen over years of being in IRC on a more or less constant basis. After I left I deleted my SynIRC connection from the client I used, and when I re-opened the connection a few months ago, learned the hard way that deleting your connection will delete all of your logs, even if you log back into the server under the same account. I do however believe "Xenomorph666" is the name of one of the people Procyon went after, I could be wrong though and anyone who remembers that name is free to correct me.

A brief search didn't turn up anything about Procyon harassing Xeno, but I do know who you're talking about.

Procyon’s ban-worthy antics have been well documented ITT. Including his IRL harassment of kids by doxxing them and calling their parents. He is the biggest breaker of rule 1 on the site and other staff refer to him as such. Hell he’s the reason why this thread exists actually. No clue why he is kept on staff. It’s not because of authorship, although that’s a bad reason to staff someone, he’s literally only written 1 thing for the site. Seems to be more on O5 than the site proper. The answer is probably what ImmortalDaisies said. No one (besides thedeadlymoose it seems) will stand up to him.

Edit: The link to the post isn’t working, so i’ll just quote it here:

He’s on staff because he does dirty work nobody else can stomach but that keeps the ss being powerful. An attack raccoon.

<djkaktus> I don't really care if there's a secret backroom vote here
<djkaktus> He needs to not have control before that post goes up
<djkaktus> Because we don't want him to rage pull his pages before they can be sorted
<Cimmerian> you mean to edit and delete his own works?
<djkaktus> Yes.
<Cimmerian> you can solve that by locking the pages though
<djkaktus> Sarkicism is a pretty big part of site culture atm
<djkaktus> Something about that needs to remain.
<djkaktus> If he freaks and pulls everything, we need to have something in place to replace it
God, this is fucking disgusting. Fat fuck doing his hardest to fuck over an author out of his own work. Seeing fucking Procyon acting as the voice of reason in this instance is comp--

<ProcyonLotor> I have a compromise option.
<ProcyonLotor> That retains the works while not literally breaking site policy (at least not by the black letter)
<ProcyonLotor> and comports with policy
<ProcyonLotor> CC-BY-SA 3.0 allows for reuse with attribution.
<ProcyonLotor> We're perfectly allowed to reuse on our own site.
<ProcyonLotor> Staff can grant special dispensation to repost unedited.
Oh, nevermind. He was also looking for a way to cheat Meta out of his shit.
The level of sheer spite involved in this entire operation is just depressing to see. It's as if someone from Licensing had temp'd Rounderhouse for having that one Neuromancer quote at the beginning of his tale.

<Roget> djkaktus: meta tried to get you and a cabal of people to overthrow staff right
I find this to be very fucking sweet.

To be fair, this thread gets like 2 pages per day now and some people react to every post while catching up with it. HIVida is a longtime reader of the SCP thread, it’s nothing personal. Also, I hope you realize that personal posts like this derail the thread as badly as whatever Baubius, Harmony, et al. were doing earlier.

I'm pretty sure HIVida is over 50% of all the negrates I've ever received on the Farms. I can usually see why he gives me the stickers that he does, but even when I don't, getting mad over stickers is extremely autistic.
Being awful to people to either intimidate them or keep them in line. Only person on staff allowed to openly abuse other members, even other people on the ss, without consequences.
Procyon is a trash mod. His level of vitriol is always more than is necessary, without fail, and these days he doesn't even do much except be a dick to everyone. I'll be surprised if they keep him around to do anything else.

I'm not mad over it, I just thought it was funny. Kind of like getting a spur of likes from one person on a bunch of your Facebook posts or Tweets.

You should see him drunk in chat.

Considering that him doxing and harassing kids over fucking IRC trolling didn't threaten his position the only way I can see him getting kicked off of staff is if he gets exposed as a sex pest like Bright. And even then I'd doubt he'd get removed if that actually happened.
