Hey, quick aside to you staff dudes. We know you're here. Maybe clean your act up?
They are apparently putting effort into finding more teenagers to induct into the Staff Cult Program as we speak, so they're hard at work doing the opposite!
ongoing 05 thread / archive

You'd think an 'appetite discussion' would be something had in, say, #site67 where all staff above junior are expected to be present for casual or official discussion. Or maybe one of their numerous admins-only or staff-only Discord channels, or their clique sidechannels like #Rogetbox, or anywhere else that they discuss the large majority of random plans and ideas. But no, this topic gets to be one of their 05command stageplays where they all act like they've never exchanged words about it before their 05 posts.
The main red flag is this: In general, most junior staff seem to be minors age 15-17 -- and Soulless now wants more of them on staff when staff is still full of older creeps. Most people know about the SCP Foundation as teenagers and either lie about their age because it's the internet, or have to wait until they're 15 to actually join. This means that a user who joins at 15 or 16 can behave well on the site, show that they have something of use to staff (ability to critique, technical knowledge, etc.), and join a team as junior staff all within a few months of joining the site. Once they're on staff, they are going to stick to social circles and behavior that they know are approved of by staff, and they are going to believe whatever staff's side is about predators in the community (which is probably something like "we ban them and they lie about us in return").
So now there's a drive to collect more teenagers for staff to talk to and befriend and 'work' with, and we know what that means at this point. Ugh.
While there's no age poll of staff specifically to show the demographic pattern, these charts from community survey results show the overall community's (not just the wiki userbase's) age statistics. The SCP community is always around half-comprised of 15-19-year-olds
2014 results
48 percent 15-19

2016 results
47 percent 15-19

2017 results
50 percent 15-19

2018 results
54 percent 15-19

EDIT: "2019" results (the survey was actually conducted at the beginning of 2020 because they procrastinate each year)
48 percent

(Looks like they haven't done anything with the 2019 survey yet. I know I wasn't the only person who submitted an opinionated statement about admins in the text answer section -- can't imagine why they're waiting to release the results, damn! EDIT: One of my friends managed to find the sandbox page where they're sorting through the results. [archive link] The keysmash URL is funny because page creators choose URLs in Wikidot, so they didn't want people to guess it and chose random shit, I suppose. Right now it looks like one junior staffer is doing all the work -- I remember those days.)
I'm starting to think their 'end goal' is to do nothing as long as possible in an attempt to make someone snap and do something against staff that legally constitutes harassment. Then Mann could have a lawyer send a cease-and-desist letter, after which he could make a public record of the situation since it 'got bad enough', and from that point forward paint staff as innocent people under fire from ~evil banned authors and evil kiwifarms~ and evil whoever else.
But who knows! It's all about accountability after all
