Frequent flier to this thread Communism Will Win/Scantron started his own SCP spinoff community late last month, not shockingly called The SCP Commune.

Very bored, I took more of a look at the ~50 writings here and ~40 of them are by CWW. They are not bad but not good. The 001s particularly are uninspiring. CWW’s reads like a giant middle finger to SCP but it’s like it has a limp wrist doing it.

The whole thing reminds me of EditThis-era scps. I think the whole thing is meant to keep the format but loosen it up and allow shit SCP might have aneurysms over. It’s as if SCP removed the giant pole it’s had its ass puckered around for so long (and boy do they love that shit) and SCP Commune is the sagging prolapse that’s left behind.

Unless it gets more writers and consistent input, looks like it’ll just be CWW’s personal larp. Feels lonely. Glad to see output from him though, he’s 10x more talented than any active SCP author imo. Good luck to it.

So, I'm thinking the SCP site needs to be taken down, I hope it gets DCMA'ed into dust. I haven't visited the actual site in a long time and someone pointed out a few bad ones to me recently, including this particularly feculant gem:

If you haven’t read all of the posts in this thread, just do that. It already is your essay. I’d say contribute or direct people here, it’s the place with the most eyes on it, including the SCP staff.

What’s odd is that it looks like Max wasn’t unbanned, but personally requested the edits to be made. It’s functionally a rewrite, and IIRC this isn’t allowed. Banned people can only request that their work be deleted or that minor edits be made to pages in certain cases like protecting privacy. If what Modern_Erasmus said is truthful, then the Disciplinary Team specifically required that the edits be made, but a reason wasn’t provided.

This is very odd as the rewrite doesn't seem to have substantially changed the SCP, as opposed to the rewrite of 166.

You'd think that staff would've been eager to be rid of this, considering how they reviled Landis. Instead, they actually added material, weaving the SCP into the Scarlet King mythos and changing the damn classification to Thaumiel (which is the class for SCPs that the Foundation specifically finds a use for).

I've been following the wiki for a while, and I have no idea what the "precedent" Erasmus is referring to here actually is. If I had to guess, I would say that it probably doesn't exist, and that Max is only being allowed to make these edits because he remains a semi-important person in his industry despite the allegations, but this does seem very odd. It seems like Erasmus didn't want to comply with Max's request, but the Disciplinary Team made him, which might actually be the most baffling thing they've ever done given the circumstances. They banned the dude three years ago, why do they suddenly care about what he wants? It seems very shady.

They don't have any principles. They couldn't wait to cancel this guy over a bunch of allegations which, if true, make him a literal serial rapist, but now they're sucking him off. Nothing actually came of any of these allegations, as lurid as they were, and frankly the mere participation of Zoe Quinn lends an aura of bullshit to the whole thing.

But hey, either they don't believe the allegations themselves, or they do, and they're sucking off a rapist for clout because he's semi-famous and contributed to their site. It's a reasonably good SCP too but seriously, do they believe the guy is a rapist or not? Either way they're scum.
