What about S.T.A.L.K.E.R or Resistance?Men in Black, B.P.R.D, SERN, Providence in Generator Rex, etc
First person and third person both have their strengths and weaknesses when it comes to writing an interesting narrative, the best thing to do is figure out how you want to handle it specifically.Question regarding my future work I mentioned, should I write it in third person or first person? Thinking first person with a similar writing style to H.P. Lovecraft.

second person for more SCP flair.Question regarding my future work I mentioned, should I write it in third person or first person? Thinking first person with a similar writing style to H.P. Lovecraft.
This sounded familiar to me, but under a different name. Skip around this video -I imagine it's because there was no real storyline. Just a vague sense of having to gather over 500 objects, and yes every single entry was its own mini-story so it'd be a pain in the ass. It was really baby's first edgy creepypasta from what I can remember with total bullshit trials with no real coherent narrative. I remember there'd be shit like
"Go down the hall and you'll meet The Doorman. If he smiles at you, you can pass. If he frowns, you'll suffer an infinite torture and beg for death when he's done with you."
Like some of these demon guardians only let you pass if they're in a good mood or some shit. It's really not worth reading.
The backrooms wiki is on there so it couldn't have been last updated too long ago. Still bizarre that that shit was made.Good resource. Outdated but good to how many existed at one point.
Gonna try and see if I can find The Holders Wiki on the Wayback Machine so we can gawk at it.Good resource. Outdated but good to how many existed at one point.
Then you must've done something wrong because I was able to find it with zero issues.Gonna try and see if I can find The Holders Wiki on the Wayback Machine so we can gawk at it.
Edit: Nope. Nothing.
I don't know what witchcraft you did, but I owe you one. Currently reading "The Holder of Color" and you guys were absolutely right about it.Then you must've done something wrong because I was able to find it with zero issues.
At the very least there's no entries that are the length of a small novel or contain the writer's super special OC as far as I can tell.I don't know what witchcraft you did, but I owe you one. Currently reading "The Holder of Color" and you guys were absolutely right about it.
Oh God, I have to read them now. I've read the one you're reading now and...I don't know what witchcraft you did, but I owe you one. Currently reading "The Holder of Color" and you guys were absolutely right about it.
Even then I'd be willing to forgive that if it's well written, but from what I've read and what I've been told...whew.At the very least there's no entries that are the length of a small novel or contain the writer's super special OC as far as I can tell.
The Holder of the Kiwis, where if you want it you gotta stay in the same room as Nikocado Avocado for 69 seconds and not move or blink whatsoever or else you'll die feeling the pain of one thousand suns.Oh God, I have to read them now. I've read the one you're reading now and...
God, how much of these are just weird, fetishy sounding shit? Then you must've done something wrong because I was able to find it with zero issues.
That's just the first two paragraphs of this one, first one I've read by hitting random page. I don't know how they made something worse at it's face than modern SCP but they did, and they were ahead of their time.In any city, in any country, go to any travel agent you can get into. Once inside, find the customer services desk and ask to see "The Holder of the Peregrination." They will swallow hard and begin to violently convulse. Shout the same question at them, regardless of their spasms. Should they continue to convulse, you are quite free to stand completely still where you are. Running is simply a silly idea; it could not save you from the pain that will inevitably consume you, destroying your mind but never giving you the mercy of death. If, though, they stand, turn around, and vomit, put your arm around them and help them to the back room. Your path will not be impeded upon...yet.
When you arrive in the room, the customer services advisor will turn to you and vomit, as well- only this time in your mouth. Swallow fast and hard, as the acid from the vomitus will dissolve your mouth. The room will begin to lighten around you, with an off shade of blue radiating in it. You will notice that you are now the only one in the room. Suddenly, a terrible pain in your stomach will hit you as the foreign, otherworldly acid hits your gut. A small hole will be burned into your stomach, increasing in size until your insides spill out to the floor. By no means should you attempt to catch them, as they will simply devour you.
These are the only three ones I remember, mostly because they actually tried doing something different with the format.Even then I'd be willing to forgive that if it's well written, but from what I've read and what I've been told...whew.![]()
When did they give up on the 'this is object X of 538' format? I notice that the first seed doesn't include that text, and being limited to only 538 stories would kill the project fairly quickly, as I'm assuming this is a wiki that, while it would have had a vetting process like early SCP, would still invite more people than could actually make holders entries. Or did they actually end it with reaching the 538 mark, with a few exceptions? These are the only three ones I remember, mostly because they actually tried doing something different with the format.
From what I remember from the lore there were originally 2538 objects, but 2000 of them were lost. And then when they reached 538 entries they decided to create another series called Legion's objects about the other 2000 which tend to diverge from the format a lot too. When did they give up on the 'this is object X of 538' format?
