Don't know if I'd actually seen this chart before, neat. Saving it here if it hasn't been. Also here.

Edit: Most interesting part to me is the Turkish offshoots. Why Turkish specifically? And the fact one of them is still active, too. Or was by 2022.

Yeah it's (and the site) is pretty outdated in some regards. This image was made a bit ago and hasn't been updated, though to be fair it just needs to change some icons for what sites are dead, inactive, and active, and maybe an extra site added (though I couldn't tell you what sites since I don't think anymore were made recently). There's a new Chaos Insurgency wiki that was made as an alternative take on said CI, sadly they are equally as pozzed. Good luck asking around for a """based""" SCP alternative anywhere but here though, you'll definitely be banned. Best you'll go for is RPC and even then there's limits...which aren't much to be fair:

Can't believe the shithole I come from is featured considering it was just a Discord server.

Well atleast from my experience, The backrooms had little moderation compared to the SCP foundation, and thus degenerated much quicker.

Also, Don’t forget about Kane Pixel’s backrooms and the Async fiasco, though alot of kidtubers have butchered it into something unrecognizable.

Which one? RSC/Odrin? Another?

Who? I missed whatever fiasco you're talking about, blessing in disguise really. I know the backgrounds guy but Async? And of course Kidtubers ruined shit. As for moderation, from what researched and experience I could gather, place that are lightly moderated tend to fair better and are overall better places so long as you're not thinned skinned. However, if that place is based off/an offshoot of/inspired by a place that already has a...certain culture around it, it will inevitably draw in people from whatever hellhole that culture came from. For example, if a place is filled with troons, someone makes an offshoot of that place with little moderation, the troons will congregate over there and shit it up, resulting in excessive (albeit sometimes necessary) enforcement of moderation or a complete shutdown of operations.
You cannot escape the taint, only cut it out when you can. The only moderation a person should ever enforce is to expel bad actors, but allow people who wish to engage properly to continue residence.

Somnium Institution, although I remember it as Institute. To this day some of my friends still talk about "that fucking bong Adeptus".
Sadly I didn't hear about it in time before it was basically scrubbed off the interwebs, I only have the archive of a 4chan thread ConFic provided in their article I listed a while back and a better one I found on 4plebs. Unlike others that were capitalizing on SCPs faggotry to make an offshoot, Somnium just said "fuck that, just get us writers and we'll do what we want." Any tales from Somnium? I have fucking nothing regarding them and this "bong Adeptus" you speak of. Also it saddens me how fast they all died, even the "attempted to be purely original" sites...
Also remember when people collectively thought overly redacting articles was stupid?

Among other things. I also just found out that the classification Ticonderoga that we shat on a while ago was half a decade old already...Jesus Christ. This image is around 5 years old.

I was the main fucker shilling it, as in I was recruiting almost the moment I joined the server. 4chan, Reddit, any forum that wouldn't nuke my account.

Adeptus was the main guy and he noped out very quickly. One day he just nuked the server and joined another project that died very quickly. We splintered because most of us were complete strangers, we had to look each other up through convos and save what we could. Each one took their ideas and ran, some to RCP or CI, and some like me preferred to keep their prompts to themselves due to the bad experience.

Holy shit Blue Gem Muslim Queen lore. Also sorry to hear that you had such a shit experience from someone who couldn't keep his shit together and stick with something. Do you have a general idea of what was in Somnium before it was erased from existence or was there barely anything even right before he shut it all down? I wonder if he's still out there. You have any prompts you'd like to share?

Isn't Cernunnos the fat furry cunt from Fate Grand Order? Also, I still feel like the first three containment classes are good enough, with Apollyon and Thaumiel just being extras when the skip doesn't fit the three. Adding so many more would confuse the shit out of newbies in universe, like "Oh, I need you to check on SCP-6969-FUCK, it's the Esoteric Ticonderoga Amida Danger class.", that sounds so much more fucking retarded compared to "It's a Euclid class, so be careful around it."

I knew they changed it, but I haven't seen the full selection of options before. Honestly I don't mind the risk category and the disruption would be improved if they used a naming convention that doesn't look like random gibberish. Secondary is absolutely retarded as they are either redundant (archon and ticonderoga) or way too hyper specific that only a few would need it. Secondary should have been used to note what kind of thing the SCP is (building, memetic info, humanoid, animal, inanimate object, animate object, ect)

It was a free for all of post your prompts and the better ones get pinned so they can be developed later.
You have any prompts you'd like to share?
Of the ones I pitched and got accepted I remember:
1. A tarsiiform tumor life form, that would grow unpredictably from any laceration or injury and was divided into 8 different entities with various degrees of mutation.
2. A race of psychic albino anthropoids, with black eyes and tentacles erupting from their mouths and chest that terrorized the Japanese hillside and forcefully procreated with humans. No, they weren’t based on Lovecraft but rather on a Japanese cryptid. The more human hybrids would be pariahs for both species and be adopted by our organization.
3. A semi-nomadic city-state in Eastern/Central Europe inhabited by the survivors of fallen empires and genocides who just so happen to be cyborgs. It was going to be founded by cripples that used technology to fight against the powers raping Europe and be based right in front of one of them in the lore.

You know what, in a controlled environment that's not a bad idea, especially if there's a rating system (in this case an up arrow/down arrow emote)

I really like the third one, could be tweaked and expanded upon and it's sad that it never was. Unless you continued off it on your own.

I agree wholeheartedly.
Also man it's fun and tragic looking back at older posts when SCP was shitting the bed. Feels so long ago.
The SCP wiki is a essentially a depository of assorted creepypastas of widely varying quality that was mostly fun but they have let the fame from their most famous entries go to their heads.

The recent PRIDE MONTH messaging reeks of something that has been taken over by people who want to "reform" whatever clique or subculture they have entered, their tone positive and moralistic, but also uses the words 'purging' and 'toxic' prominently in regards to the now problematic elements which built it up originally. Nice thing you people - in this case 4channers - built, it's ours now -- and it always was, "morally".

That one was their favourite too.

To go into some expansions I made through the years:
  • The Great War was the War that Ended All Wars as the equivalent of the Central Powers ended up 'ripping reality' about two weeks before the Christmas Truce. The onslaught was stopped by the Great Druid of Britain and leader of my shadowy organization, who perished in doing so. In case you care, he did while dressed like Father Christmas.
  • The survivors of this 'rip' in what we call Austria-Hungary band together by using technology developed by medics and engineers of both sides, mainly to aid cripples. Since they exist as a buffer state, they are literal paranoid androids and use body augmentations to keep themselves safe.
  • The original 'leaders' of this place (which I can't remember if I even named it) were going to be two 'disgraced' leaders of the war: one was a German woman that was one of its key tech leaders, basically Stroheim but she happened to be Jewish. She left her country discredited and banded with the last people left on Earth willing to listen to her. Btw, in this lore many of the Central leaders were Jewish and vague antisemitism of the setting is explained because of it. 'Golem' becomes a slur for the cyborgs but also an identity they reclaim.
  • The second 'leader' was a funny story. I really liked Monsieur Z's Scar Nicholas, so I considered the idea of the Tsar surviving in much the same fashion but after being soured on his own country, he leaves and becomes the Father of a new nation of technically 'undead' people. I even considered calling Z to ask if it was OK to allude we share canon (not explicitly tho).
  • Being it because of radiation, dark magic or just Balkan luck most children in this place are born with deformities, hence why the entire place is populated by cyborgs. The design philosophy was going to be akin to insect/arachnid due to tech limitations and very heavy on 60's sci-fi.
  • Why do I mean with 'nomadic'? It was a play on how places like Wakanda and Kandaqh are sort of floating countries. In this case the city-state has also been equipped with tech to keep its enemies guessing.
  • Ethnicity and religion. A melting pot of every group in Austria-Hungary and with religion not as a restrictive tool of control, but an instrument of freedom in which each denomination of Christianity and Judaism is allowed a voice in an ecumenical council. 'God gave steel to build his Church, the curiosity to seek it and the will to shape it'.
  • In this universe Vienna has one of the top, if not the top university for cutting-edge tech and works in opposition to the shadowy organization. Basically the Future Foundation for edgelords. They are the main oppressors, enemies and benefactors of the slavic cyborgs. I think I named the school after Saint Stephen, which both creates many anomalies and also is the alma mater of a bunch of characters in the lore.
  • Its political status is almost comical as no one wants to bat for them in fear of angering the world powers.
  • This world has mimic/fleshgaits and the cyborgs equip themselves to be useless to them.

Ever considered publishing these somewhere, like a "short story" in an article or an amateur press association (APA)? Or make your own blog at that. I think the fucks at Amazon have a direct publishing thingy. This stuff is too interesting to just die associated to a failed attempt of an SCP offshoot.

First off, thank you. Yes, I'm going to keep fleshing this world out but I've been scared for ages because I took the same approach a lot of writers do with their big projects: it kept growing and getting more difficult to put into page. I've considered following Stephen King's example (not coke) by taking my prompts, making stories and getting them to connect through themes rather than direct crossover.

I do plan on publishing so if you guys ever see my ideas somewhere and I go mad with power, you have my blessing to make my thread, tho I already told someone else HE had the right to make it.

This is the same SCP/worldbuilding project I posted about ages ago about a BPRD-type org based on the UK and at least half responsible for making the British empire happen and now survives off tax payers like you. I wear my influences on my sleeves so my literal shit ton of prompts may make you grin or facepalm depending on your mood, just you know I like to twist shit around so it makes sense I've wizards and mad scientists fighting for public budgets and ocassionaly making a common front against accounting.

(not coke)
Lol
making stories and getting them to connect through themes rather than direct crossover.
Not a bad idea, would be easier to keep things contained. Would prevent any overlap you'd have to account for and would have to either write in a way that makes sense for both stories or write around it which can be jarring at times. Something SCP sometimes succeeds but mostly fails these days to do.
tho I already told someone else HE had the right to make it.

If it has SOVL I'm not complaining.

That actually really funny to think about. Kind of sounds like a Mage: The Awakening skit. Seriously I'd take something that's a bit rough but filled with soul and kino over something clean but...boring and droning.

For another installment of SCP peak autism, someone made this article which is some kind of interactive fanfiction or whatever, and it has you enter your name and it has a SLUR CHECKER that literally denies you if you enter something like "nigger" or "faggot" or whatever. This person was so upset by the idea that someone while reading this article on their own without sharing it with anyone could put in a heckin bad no no word that they decided to code in something to prevent it. To these shitlibs it isn't just bad if you say "nigger" or "faggot" in public or online, they don't want you to even put in the word when playing a single player "game" so when nobody but you sees it. Kind of like that law in Ireland that if you have a racist meme saved on your phone that is illegal even if you don't share it with anyone. They wish they could punish people for thinking the word but sadly they don't know how to read minds yet

The way it tells you to "please tells us the words you used" at the end seems like a really obvious honeypot to try and get people banned. Also, surprisingly the ban seems to not apply to any transphobic slurs as of right now, but it wouldn't surprise me if the writer or any of his discord kittens saw this thread and changed it up in an instant.
