Looks like none of them ever heard of a comb either, well the women at least. They featured a Group of Interest (GOI) article that doesn't look like it suffers the usual issues at a glance, I've yet to read it however.

I blame the snowflake effect. Everyone wants to write an overpowered eldrich abomination, like the scarlet king, or have a super quirky and fun self insert scientist, and a super special meta SCP . Trouble is, when everyone tries to do it, it stops being special, and gets old fast.

There are at least three SCPs where the big reveal is "Doodt, we're in a fictional universe!" It's like when a character in a cartoon like Family Guy, Rick and Morty, or Big Mouth says you're watching TV, as if that's funny by itself. Yeah, I know I'm watching TV. Where's the punchline?

See, when it was just one of the SCP-001 proposals (forget which) that had this revelation, that should have been the only one. I don't know about you but the idea of a character or multiple characters realizing they're only as real as the creator of their fictional universe wants them to be should be so astronomically horrifying to the point where said character should be questioning everything they have ever done as well as hide it from everyone else to not start a mass panic, either that or try and kill their creator(s). But nah it's just chalked up to the same level as multiverses in capeshit. "Oh cool, other universes exist."

Also, here's a cool SCP I read recently. Most of it is taken up by transcripts, but they have more going on than just two people talking about shit I don't care about.

The layout is not bad for a nu-scp layout. I know that's probably the "who gives a fuck" part of an SCP article sometimes these layouts can be garbage.

Pretty cool, the older actors (the doctor and d-boy) were much better than the young ones though, which I found a bit interesting. Probably a case of the younger actors being volunteers and the older ones being actual paid actors.

The whole visual glitching got old pretty fast, but it did the job, hopefully they wont rely on it too much in the future.

You could tell the actors were hamming up their performances, falling flat on any comedy or tension, and the script was written like an episode of a children's TV show but with swearing and jargon. The set design looked cheap and dull, but the costumes were okay. The toaster would have been a good introduction to anomalies in the SCP Foundation universe if it had been implemented better, while SCP-049 was included only because he's a favorite among fans. Overall, this episode was pretty lame.

Nothing can be self-contained anymore (ha, contained), would be ok if it referenced one SCP that was related to or very similar to their own that it would make sense to reference in some way but lol no. That one SCP-001 should be the only meta shit they should have but again, lol no.
