Scrapping on the internet - Why, just why?

I'm curious what makes scrapping on the internet so appealing.
All I see across social networks now is users at war, not against a cause or an agenda, but each other.
I can't help but feel increasingly frustrated at this as it really takes time and attention away from real world issues.
If we stop fighting each other and focus on these real world issues we'd all be better off.
If you disagree with me, let's hear it, explain why you enjoy engaging in pointless internet bitch fights.
If you agree, then good, share your thoughts on the issue.

scrapping items is an important part of recycling, its a lot easier to reuse materials my scrapping them than it would be to harvest fresh.

scraping is great for archiving bad takes, stupid mistakes and general troonsanity.
without it the horrendous acts from these things would be forgoten about in a month and antidotal evidence (i.e someone saying some fuckwit did something) can't be used since it isn't verifiable.
