Started a new job not too long ago where I am on a computer for most of it. Then I get home and wanna chill, shitpost and game. But I feel guilty using a screen to relax after spending all day looking at one. I spend time outside but notice I am often counting down the time to go back inside and look at more screens. I find it disturbing that over the last decade my life has started to completely revolve around screens, but my career demands it.

Do you guys feel the same?

i will spend most of my life playing games and staring at screens
i am at peace

A little. But I spend some of my time reading ebooks, so it feels like not all of my time is wasted.

Yes, I read actual books too

THINK... why the fuck wouldn't you just use the screens at work to "chill, shitpost and game." Kill two birds with one stone.

People are going to tell you what to do your entire life. The people who think screen time is the devil are some of the loudest among those people. Just be honest with yourself about how you spend your time and if it is fulfilling to you. It's your life, don't waste it trying to kick a "bad habit" as defined by some faggot who doesn't like video games. The only video games I regret playing are a few mobas like League of Legends, and even then, I only regret how much time I spent on them.

I'm a telemarketer so it's hard to chill when calling low IQ angry niggers from Jamaica

Blocking out specific time to read, do something creative, meditate and taking nature walks helps immensely with feeling weird about ones reliance on screens. Doing these activities without any music or potential screen distractions is also important.

There are people who shouldn't drink alcohol. Alcohol causes them to malfunction, so they need to learn to avoid it. Some people can drink alcohol without it becoming a problem.

Screens are no different. Know your limit. Play within it.

My work day consists of staring at 8 screens. Then I come home and take a break for a while. Clean, read, exercise, play with my guns, play guitar. Then fuck about on my pc at home for a few hours. Then always reading before bed.

It's all about having time away. My biggest issue is audio input. All day I have people talking either directly into my ear, or in the room I work. Then while I am doing my stuff away from screens, I usually have a podcast or music playing. My only real quiet times are first thing in the morning and right before bed.

I need to get out to the woods soon.
