Based but I hope he gets shot by an irrate lazybones and slowly bleeds to death live on camera and then published as his final video.

Why? It would be the magnum opus of his work; people would literally rather shoot a faggot dead in broad daylight rather than simply putting away their fucking cart

And to think there are people out there worried about things like the economy, the social decay of society and political shitshows of the likes we have never seen in western society.
Now while I have no personal attachment to the question at hand, I would like to point out that things like basic courtesy and doing the right thing are matters of habit.

Putting the cart in the proper place is an incredibly low bar and very easy, if you can't achieve that low goal you probably aren't going to do the right thing when it is actually difficult. Politics and Society are downstream of culture after all.

Edit : Cart Narc is still a faggot though, so are the people who get pissy about him.

You have a point. Its just disappointing that nowadays thats a topic for debate when it should just be common decency.
Just dont be proud of being a narc, thats fucking petty and reminds me far too much of Covid cultists.

Oh never fucking Narc, but if someone starts being a faggot about something stupid..go to the tried and true REAL American way of doing things that aren't worth violence over.

Give him the finger and call him a faggot.

Okay, I have a job and NO WAY can I invest the time and effort right now into reading this entire thread, so please no boolie if I cannot hold back this one observation (it may have already been made, so throw your clocks at me if you must):

Yes, if we do not put our shopping carts in the proper place we are certainly jerks. HOWEVER!!

PEOPLE WHO DO NOT CLEAN UP THEIR DOG'S POOP ARE A HUNDRED TIMES WORSE. I wish people would go on a crusade about that.

At least there are employees sent out to retrieve shopping carts. That dog excrement just sits there, stinking, waiting for some innocent passerby to step in it.

Countdown to you starting a YouTube channel where you throw people's dog shit in their face for not picking it up when?

All this Cart Narc talk and shopping trolley theory reminds of the face mask debate. In this thread I keep seeing the same talking points and it seems to boils down to very similar arguments. (common courtesy vs. inconvenience)

Speaking about myself, I've always put away the shopping cart but I hate wearing a face mask no matter what. It's perplexing. Does anyone feel the same way?
No, not at all. Masks were a psyop that did/do literally nothing. By contrast, we have several testimonials in this very thread about how leaving the cart out leads to the cart getting pulled by the wind and smashing into people's cars. Putting a cart away won't give you Legionnaires' disease either.

You can argue for a lot of things on the basis of social responsibility and being a decent person. Some of those things are valid and some of them are dumb. In this particular instance, hindsight on the mask thing should make this one really easy for you to suss out.

So which path does the average kiwi choose?

this guy is a fucking retard but I have a hard time feeling any sympathy for his "victims". if you're going to flagrantly shit on the social contract in such a lame way, you can stand to get harassed by some internet faggot for everyone else's entertainment. call it instant karma, or maybe community service. although, it's gonna be real funny when Cart Nerd gets beaten half to death and then the guy who beat him also gets arrested and charged with felony assault over a fuckin shopping cart, lol. imagine being the arresting officer on that case

unverifiable anecdote time!!! one time right after I pulled up at the grocery store I saw some bitch finish loading her shit into her giant SUV and then she kind of just pushed the cart out of her way into the empty parking space next to her. well the cart just kept going and bonked into the car in the next parking space, didn't look like it did any damage but I wasn't feeling cool that day and the scene before me had my teeth grinding. after she got into her car she did the thing where she got on a bluetooth call on her phone with the speakers turned up super loud so you could hear the whole conversation through her closed doors. so I was like, this smells like an opportunity to do something regrettable and petty. I grabbed the cart and made like I was walking to the store entrance with it, but I let it go right when I was walking behind her car and kept going nonchalantly. well I guess I managed to be slick enough for her not to notice because after I was like 20 ft past her she backed up into the cart and it skittered around and bonked into her rear bumper loudly. she got out and found it and looked at it really confused, maybe she thought the cart rolled behind her on its own, because she took it to the nearest cart dropoff that was like a couple parking spaces down from where she was, lol. justice was served........................ anyway I'm fucking retarded and she might have been a totally cool person but the autistic rage won that day. don't follow my example friends.

I've been here a little while, even had an account back when I first finally ended up deciding to come see for myself what all the fuss was about having nothing better to do for reasons, which I indeed lost after most recent kerfuffle. It doesn't matter but after all that for all the reasons that possibly could've been to finally decide to make a new account and have my say once again dagnamit I never would've predicted a debate over the returning of the hallowed shopping carts would be the thing to do it.

What a time to be alive.

True this one isn't demanding women wax their balls on threat of legal actions or poisoning confused children both mentally and irreparably physically but I wasn't aware that was a requirement for lolcowdom™️. In fact something so light-hearted as this may be what attracts me and dare I say find fairly refreshing in the midst of... Things. In fact for all those praising and heralding the return of their cart messiah what if I told you he in truth wants people to leave their carts out? Simple fact if there are no carts left out there are no videos and if there are no videos we have a very bored, potentially penniless, lolcow in need of a new outlet for his very obvious and clearly cowish tendencies even to someone who has watched a number totaling somewhere in the vicinity of zero of his videos.

But, for the record, I always return my carts. Not because it's the 'right' thing to do or 'morally correct' or even because it may be helpful to the wranglers whom I get the feeling actually enjoy chasing down the carts funnily enough or even simply good manners and in fact where I'm from while they used to use coins as an insurance policy in recent years they have gone high tech. The store has a perimeter and if one attempts to remove a cart from said perimeter electronic brakes immobilise it until a wrangler arrives to disable them. Which is probably a good idea in theory at least but still rather optimistic as my store happens to be literally overlooking a large river and if anyone tells you where they're from people always return their carts they just don't have any rivers nearby. There aren't many certainties in life but one is stores + rivers = carts in rivers.

But as I say I return my cart every time for none of those reasons. Much like when I go out for a nice walk perhaps taking my camera or some paper to do some sketching I don't do it because I am 'great artist' or all should stand in awe of great such works with my steps heralding the coming of such greatness perhaps for a 'second' time. I do it because I enjoy it. I enjoy when I'm returning it to the corral and perhaps someone on their way in spots me and offers to take it off my hands briefly excahnging pleasantries as we go off on our way or other such mildly enjoyable social events such as someone seeing me sketching/photographing asking what I'm up to or perhaps wanting to have a look also. Much like practically everything I choose to do in life I simply just like doing it.

If I were to spot this fellow at my store I might well find myself in a paradox regarding what I quite like more in fact. Needless to say, let's not let logic and reason intrude on an otherwise thoroughly autistic slapfight, Godspeed all you exceptional individuals.

That being said, I've only ever experienced both schools of thought in a rather limited way, namely:

- returning the cart is incentivized by the cart requiring a small deposit, and
- let the immigrants and unemployed (who are likely doubling up as car guards) deal with it in cases where a deposit is not needed, but you have to tip them (small change or fruit), or
- return it yourself so you don't have to part with the small change you probably don't have.

Returning the cart is almost always best in my experience, but it's never been out of altruism, only pragmatism. Maybe it's different in small non-bong towns, but I can't say I've experienced it as the morality barometer it's claimed to be.
