Secret RCMP report warns Canadians may revolt once they realize how broke they are

Right from the get-go, the report authors warn that whatever Canada’s current situation, it 'will probably deteriorate further in the next five years'
---
A secret RCMP report is warning the federal government that Canada may descend into civil unrest once citizens realize the hopelessness of their economic situation.

“The coming period of recession will … accelerate the decline in living standards that the younger generations have already witnessed compared to earlier generations,” reads the report, entitled Whole-of-Government Five-Year Trends for Canada.

“For example, many Canadians under 35 are unlikely ever to be able to buy a place to live,” it adds.

The report, labelled secret, is intended as a piece of “special operational information” to be distributed only within the RCMP and among “decision-makers” in the federal government.

A heavily redacted version was made public as a result of an access to information request filed by Matt Malone, an assistant professor of law at British Columbia’s Thompson Rivers University, and an expert in government secrecy.

Describing itself in an introduction as a “scanning exercise,” the report is intended to highlight trends in both Canada and abroad “that could have a significant effect on the Canadian government and the RCMP.”

Right from the get-go, the report authors warn that whatever Canada’s current situation, it “will probably deteriorate further in the next five years.”

In addition to worsening living standards, the RCMP also warns of a future increasingly defined by unpredictable weather and seasonal catastrophes, such as wildfires and flooding. Most notably, report authors warn of Canada facing “increasing pressure to cede Arctic territory.”

Another major theme of the report is that Canadians are set to become increasingly disillusioned with their government, which authors mostly chalk up to “misinformation,” “conspiracy theories” and “paranoia.”

“Law enforcement should expect continuing social and political polarization fueled by misinformation campaigns and an increasing mistrust for all democratic institutions,” reads one of the report’s “overarching considerations.”

Ironically, among the report’s more heavily redacted sections is one carrying the subtitle “erosion of trust.” “The past seven years have seen marked social and political polarization in the Western world” reads a partial first sentence, with the entire rest of the section deleted by government censors.

The censor’s pen also deleted most of a section warning about “paranoid populism.” “Capitalizing on the rise of political polarization and conspiracy theories have been populists willing to tailor their messages to appeal to extremist movements,” reads the section’s one non-redacted sentence.

In terms of declining living standards and inaccessible home ownership, the RCMP’s warnings are indeed in line with available statistics.

Canadian productivity — measured in terms of GDP per capita — has been trending downwards since at least the 1980s. But this has accelerated dramatically in recent years — even as per-worker productivity rises in many of our peer countries.

An analysis last year by University of Calgary economist Trevor Tombe found that if Canada had merely kept pace with U.S. productivity growth for the last five years, Canadian per-capita earnings would be $5,500 higher than they are now.

Meanwhile, housing affordability has reached “worst-ever” levels in most of Canada’s major markets, according to a December analysis by RBC. On average, even condos are now so unaffordable that only 44.5 per cent of Canadian households had sufficient income to buy one at current prices. As for single-family homes, only the richest 25 per cent of Canadian households had any hope of obtaining one.

“Economic forecasts for the next five years and beyond are bleak,” reads the RCMP’s assessment of the rest of the decade, even adding a quote from French President Emmanuel Macron that “the end of abundance” is nigh.

When Russia and the USA duke it out in the Arctic over Canadian polar territory, I sure hope they call it the Cold War.
And just like the original Cold War, the yanks will complete fuck up their understanding of Russia. There is a reason no one in Euro land likes them, they just fuck up all the time. Just leave them alone, they will fuck it all up for themselves, like they always do.

By rights Russia should be able to crush America with little difficulty, its far richer than America. But its Russia, so its run like shit and the people are all retarded. Scalp a few of the brainy ones and let the place collapse. Again. For about the 50th time in its history.

Kinda the opposite, actually. Their cities have been taken over by brown people who voted in a bunch of Trudeau-aligned brown people, so now they're progressive hellholes too. Only a matter of time before the towns fall in line. Even if we banned birth control, we couldn't out-breed the rate in which the government is letting in future Uber Eats delivery people.

Many such cases!

Despite what's happening at your southern border, it isn't all that easy to immigrate to the US. You typically need a job offer, to buy a business, get a national interest waiver, or to be a student. There's also the exit tax to contend with, where Canada charges you a deemed disposition for the right to move your shit out of the country.

Fuck you you can't stop me I'm gonna sell my crack shack for $2 million and then I'm moving to Dallas and getting so many guns...
It turns out you don't have to care about what your population wants when you can just import a servant class! Democracy life hack!

The sheer "Well I'm not racist" NIMBY shit is also allowing those foreigners to fill ranks in our political parties, where they'll vote out of tribal loyalty.

By what standard? US GDP is more than an order of magnitude higher than Russia, US per-capita GDP is 5x higher than Russia.
By the standard they have the largest nation, a huge supply of resources. America is doing more with less than Russia, most nations can claim that.

If you look into the entire picture of Russia, you end up wondering why the fuck they are not top of the world. They have all the parts needed, even a small population relative to their land, and they still fuck it up time and time again. You look at the history of Russia, and it mostly gets carried by Euro nations. Most of their elite scientists during the soviet era were not even Russian. They have to steal from others, and guess what they do with that, they fuck it up (see the entire failure that is the Soviet Russian history). Time and time again they are gifted advantages, and time and time again they squander it.

Its an interesting place, its like they are cursed from some ancient act, and are doomed. Even today, the whole "Russia is based" shit falls apart when you see a nation that seems to always be 10 steps from completely falling apart. Putin is an American appointment, out of fear of a nuclear nation falling into the wrong hands.

They are not backstabbers, thats a cope. They are just fuck ups.

Geography and culture. Huge size, huge terrain that’s incredibly inhospitable in parts. Such a big country that there wasn’t one dominant ethnic group. What does someone in Kamchatka have in common with someone in st. Petersburg?
PORTS, lack thereof. Russia has very little to no deep water year round port -capable coast. Russia is almost too big, and too dispersed.
If the ice does melt, and the northern routes get more navigable, things may change.

Ah, I see you've been to the asian part of richmond then
Eh, it's been a while since I been there, (also have met Azns in Burnaby that were perfectly nice) but the white ones are pretty bad too all over here. A relative I knew (RIP) who lived in Surrey would always talk mad shit about the pajeets (Sikhs specifically) and how mean and nasty they were and I thought they were full of shit because the Sikhs in my area are actually pretty nice and then I hear that pajeets in Surrey act very, VERY differently from where I am. Here there's like a large portion of 4th and 5th generation Sikhs and over there is tons of fresh off the boats.

OUI! DO YOU HAVE A LOICENCE TO POST HERE??!!!

What does the US actually manufacture?

In Canada's defense, the two times the USA invaded them we did so with a bunch of fucking retarded militia from Vermont and Ohio who were more interested in raping, looting and burning then they were "liberating". The American defeat at the Battle of Quebec was very well deserved after the fiasco that was the sack of Fort Toronto. It was questionable at that point whether or not the Federal officers were in charge or Uncle Cletus and his Bois.
Upper C*nadians aren't people. Yankee troops invented zoosadism raping the pigdogs in York.
Wait, Canada has no icebreakers? Seriously? Could they not figure out how to buy them from the Russians between 1902 and 2022?
Icebreakers are transphobic and anti queer. Ice is coded for meth.

Same. I’m pretty sure the US would Annex Canada if only to use it as a nuclear dumping ground and border between them and Russia. They would never let the enemy sit so close.
Canada needs to wind up like it did in Blood Dragon with Russia and the USA playing nuclear hockey on it.

Probably my favorite mission in that whole game. And is pretty much what we could expect from those two nations fighting it out for control of Canada... if the Russian planes had the range to reach that far!

It's 25% of assets automatically, plus/minus capital gains in some cases. Plus you still have to report to CRA all sorts of shit going forward in perpetuity. Plus losing lifetime Capital Gains exemption. Plus loss of Canadian healthcare which sucks but better than nothing (no national healthcare insurance, like CAA or Blue Cross will cover you as a non-resident canadian anywhere on tyhe planet. You have to go to different sorts of companies), plus loss of old age pension.... Plus... Plus.... Plus.... So much shit, you wouldn't believe. This shit is as punitive as prison... They actively punish you through taxation for leaving. It's like leaving an abusive husband, but worse.
...Unless you are still a "Resident Canadian" , technically meaning you are in the country 183+ days that year, but there are loopholes. We are working through them with accountants and lawyers now. It's fucked. A gym membership is one factor that can still make you assessed as resident even if you don't spend a day in the country. Memberships to clubs, professional associations, legions, having bank accounts, safe deposit boxes, Canadian telephone numbers, other property, other revenue in Canada... A fuckload of things, but it's on a case by case basis whether you are still a Resident Canadian if you don't have the 183+ days.

And then, as you say, dealing with immigrating there or anywhere. Moving to a different country is incredibly difficult unless you're a sponge or Democrat supporter.

I fucking wish, at this point im just gonna run over the border with no documents and hide out for more than 10 years, if mexicans can do it so can i. ill fucking marry a dude a dont like if I have to just to get a greencard like fuck

Why don't Canadians just move into the forest and build a cabin if they want a house? There's only 25 million of them, there's plenty of fucking room.
Because its a frozen shithole half the year where cooperating with people is mandatory unless you want to die of starvation or frostbite or some other horribly unpleasant thing.

The other half of the year its just a shithole.

Almost 40 million btw, but because you aren't allowed to do that any more. They changed the laws a couple of decades ago, and you had to have been squatting on the land pre-1983 in order to have any rights to it. Anything else, and you need to apply and pay for a lease from the government which can be revoked arbitrarily, but especially for "environmental reasons"...
