This is not a call for Spirit Bot Gift Creators.

Organization for the Kiwi Farms Secret Santa 2025 event has begun. I need 2-4 more Helpers for behind the scenes work and am looking for volunteers.

Q. What is involved?
A. Receiving and sending DMs to participants and Spirit Bots concerning assignments, gift receiving and delivery, mostly. And some one time copying of people's sign-ups in the thread to the central pool.

Q. When is this required?
A. You will be active from the last week of November, to early January. There's a bit of an upfront bump in work at the start then it settles to a slower stream and then ramps up again right before Christmas and just after. You wouldn't have to be on literally every day but we do need people who can be on most days. The idea is that we want to avoid people being left hanging unable to get started on their gifts due to waiting on some question or assignment. The gifts go out just before Christmas so that people don't have to be working on actual Christmas eve/day.

Q. What level of commitment is asked?
A. If ICE burst through your front door and put you in a van to Venezuela, we will understand. But please don't volunteer if you think there's a significant chance you'll have to drop out. We can handle it but we'd rather avoid it. It's a small team, but vital.

Q. What does it pay?
A. Major good karma and a feeling of noble self-worth!

If you feel you're insane the sort of person who can help out with that, sign-up below. Ditto if you have any questions. We only need a few but we are slightly short this year currently. You could make a big difference. This is a really popular annual event here and helps bring the community together and a lot of fun, too.
 
I may not be an ideal volunteer due to my work schedule but if you remain short handed I would be happy to help out. At a bare minimum I can be logged in for a few hours each morning and for most of the evening for the duration and can try to check in through the work day when possible. Unfortunately there is a slight chance that certain circumstances might prevent me from being able to reply or check in for up to eight hours on some days. Sorry if that is a bit much.

Glad that the Kiwi Farms SS is being planned again! I do love seeing the inventiveness and generosity that it shows each year.

Yes. You can still participate. We have to be a bit careful about who gets assigned what and you're on the honour system to not peek, but several of us have done it. I haven't the last two years because of the amount on for doing both but it's totally fine to do both.

sounds great, count me in. wouldn't want to spoil the surprise for myself so no problems there.
