This is also the first FromSoftware title to have simultaneous Japan and US release. Says something about the popularity of these games I think.

Lose half xp to next level. Can also randomly not happen. No losing thousands and thousands of souls, no way to reclaim them, no max hp decrease.
Do both make NPCs sick?

Wasn't Bloodborne only apart by like a week?

Bought it and only played a bit: plays like assassins creed but without the shit parts (99%) but with homicidal peacocks. you are light as a feather and anime run at probably 100mph or something, and 50mphs when sneaking probably. without spoiling too much it also fixes some of the past soul games problem like: being punished for not estus spamming because an enemy does 90% dmg to you and status effect balance.

So far i'm liking it damn sharp combat curve (That's why i'm here tho), i'm struggling to beat some of the bosses on my first blind playthrough as a souls game obsessive fanatic- So it must be pretty hard for newbies to the souls games.

TLDR:
Pros: 1.) fuckin robot flamethrower axe arm 2.) constant stream of visceral attacks 3.) zero jump now is steroid jump 4.) buffs are replaced with jesus candies and firewater 4.) souls game 5.)hard as shit but balanced 6.)Fixes alot of the past soul games problems 7.) Snakes

Cons: 1.) Shrine wafui has yellowfever 2.) No multiplayer to abuse other players in 3.) No multiplayer to grief others in 4.) No multiplayer to harass others in 5.) No jolly cooperation

Im downloading it right now to torture myself again and to cry because From Software still dont want to release another Armored Core

Being a mecha fag is suffering

From Software hinted last year that Armored Core could return:
https://www.ign.com/articles/2018/0...at-a-new-armored-core-is-still-in-development
From Software president, Hidetaka Miyazaki, has hinted that a new Armored Core game is still in development, despite the lack of an E3 announcement.

The studio announced that it was working on three games back in 2016, and Miyazaki confirmed that Armored Core was in development at the time.

However, at E3 2018, the developer announced its new VR title, Déraciné, new Souls-like samurai game, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and a collaboration with Devolver to re-release cult Xbox mech game Metal Wolf Chaos.

It seems at least one of those doesn't count towards the three-game total, however: "In a past interview I talked about three major development lines that are in the works, but Déraciné is not one of those," Miyazaki said in an interview with Games Talk, via Siliconera. "I just wanted to let some of the FromSoftware fans know that."

When pushed for a comment on whether he was talking with regard to the Armored Core series and its fans, Miyazaki didn't confirm or deny that he was referring to the title.

Did not the Switch got a Not!Armored Core that was like that and the weebs were praising it very hard because one of the pilots of the story is voiced by our dear Lord Char Aznable himself ?

That would be Daemon X Machina, which releases for the Switch later this year, and some of the development team worked on Armored Core.

I'm a pretty massive Souls geek, and so far Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice has just been a series of more-&-more delightful surprises. FROM re-used little chunks from all their most beloved titles and yet Sekiro somehow delivers something fresh. FROMSoft has added another solid title to their catalogue! They seem to have picked-up a few tricks from Nioh as well. I'm diggin' it!

Tenchu meets Bloodborne, and it works!

Been playing for around 8 hours now and it seems like there is still a lot of content left. The combat mechanics are incredibly addictive with a really high skill-ceiling compared to the other soulsborne games. You're not going to make it through this one by over-leveling your stats, maxing out poise and carrying a big shield. For the first time ever, you might actually need to GIT GUD and become Parry-God Miyazaki-sensei to make it through this game. Though if you have the reflexes of a geriatric with cerebral palsy you might want to stay away from this one. Only thing I'm bummed about is the lack of invasions. I miss wrecking normies who don't spend 100's of hours perfecting their souls-craft.

5 hours in. Its a good game, not my favorite fromsoftware title, but still good shit. If I'd rank it i'd say
  1. Bloodborne
  2. Dark souls
  3. Dark souls 3
  4. Sekiro
  5. Dark souls 2
Never finished Demon Souls because I was young and a shit at games. I really want a remake or at least a PC port.

Pretty positive impression early on,game is blast to play and test your ability to take decisions on the fly alot (also that 60 fps on PC are sweet)

But no matter what,FROM should be lauded for having released a complete package of a game with no:
-MTX
-Early Access
-DRM
-Woke bullshit

Only over the top ninja action with tight swordplay and badassery all around

Played for about 5 hours yesterday. I have not had my shit pushed in this badly in a long time. It feels like the first time playing Dark Souls. All the instincts are wrong. Stand there, deflect and don't lose your nerve. Oh, if you make a mistake, you will probably be dead. No wonder they give you a training dummy, because you actually have to get good at the game. I need to work on the deflect timing, and not cheese my way through fights like DSP.

Archer enemies are actually a threat in this game, as opposed to a minor annoyance. Mini bosses are a bitch for the above reasons and if you default to panic-induced parry spamming or trying to dodge away, it won't work, they increased enemy autotracking so you cannot dodge at the last minute, you have to use it to put space between you and the enemy. Punishment for dying is not too bad atm, so long as your xp is at a level, you will be capped at that level (IE, if you have 4 bars of xp, you won't drop down to level 2 for dying, you will just lose xp to get to 5 bars). Not sure about Dragonrot, but have gotten several notifications.

Stealth kills and Shinobi Deathblows are satisfying to pull off, as are the skills. Each is useful at dealing with certain problems. Overall enjoying the game, as tiring and rage inducing as it can be (though not at rage inducing as the first time playing DS).

Having dedicated this weekend to playing, I've made pretty good progress. Think i'm nearing the end of the game. Really enjoyable and might end up ranking high on my From Soft list.
What's almost as enjoyable as the game, is reading comments online from other players. The salt is flowing like no tomorrow. People whining about the combat, the parry timing, the hit boxes. It all comes down to them being frustrated by the game pounding them. What's funny is that they all start off by stating that they have played and beaten all Souls games, as if that lends any credence to their incessant bitching.

That's the problem. Even if you are a seasoned Souls player, your instincts are going to be wrong. The game is close enough to a souls game that you get complacent, and just different enough that that complacentcy gets you killed quickly. I can't tell you how many times I've been punished for muscle memory trying to use i-frames with dodge roll on an attack.

I'm not that far into it. I have shit to do and have only been able to manage about 3 hours gameplay. Plus I suck. Haven't even gotten to the first "real" boss fight yet, just a couple of dicks with two deathblows needed and a big damn ogre I gave up on until after this bit with the flaming estate.

The combat is definitely a change. Stick with it and it'll come, just like in SoulsBorne. I feel that the difficulty ebbs and flows, with it flowing at the beginning of the game. Probably to discourage those who aren't dedicated.
