Selecting a Despot for the Autism Thunderdome

If it's about assimilation to the forum and it's main purpose is to laugh at cows and not strictly politics? Determine and code a threshold number of collective posts required that has to be from the included sections: Lolcow Cults, Lolcow Salon, and Lolcow Farms to be able to post in A&H. That's were all the cows are at.

If that solution doesn't "assimilate" members, then just kill A&H or leave it be. Stop trying to strangle it with a weak grip. You have utter disscontempt for A&H for years now, but never killed it off. I cannot tell if it's because your freeze peach stance or because the section actually has the most interaction of all the boards driving traffic here.

There is no solution that will make anyone happy. You hate the board, but like the traffic. You throttle the board, the members will hate it and you'll lose some traffic/money. It's a predicament, but the baseline problem seems to be your happiness with the site's current status vs ending what you think is a cancer with monetary losses and website traffic.

Eh, I agree for the most part, but you do see some nuisance posting from time to time like two tards getting into a massive slap fight that's not even on topic for the thread, or people bumping practically ancient threads for no reason. A lot of stuff like @Coach Kreeton Of All That's doxes, or other just additional information posts end up getting lost in the sauce because of this.

True, I will admit that nuisance posting is also something that it doesn't hurt to remove. That is, of course, if "nuisance posting" isnt defined too loosely. I'm always a bit leery of jannies being overzealous, and fight quite hard to prevent it where I moderate. I will not expand on where this is,.
Ostensibly the highlight function should help prevent things from being lost Though I admit I don't know how the highlight function works. Does it highlight posts that have been given a lot of stickers? If it isnt something manual then I'd suggest a feature for posts to be "pinned" somehow, and for doxposts and the like to be permanently pinned in the thread for people to be able to easily find.

If, hypothetically, I were in charge of A&H, then the most I'd suggest is removing stuff that is legally actionable, and screeds/users that are intended to do nothing more than derail threads. (This is a subjective measure though, which can be a problem.) Generic sperging and offtopic stuff should not, in my mind, be outright removed. Instead, there should preferably be some feature to hide blocks of posts, that users can elect to unhide and read if they wish. What should be "removed" from a discussion is a bit too subjective.

I don't think I'd apply to be head moderator of the A&H subforum though, I do enough 4free,

EDIT: A&H has a problem in that it's both a heavily political section of the site, but also that it is (ostensibly) bipartisan. It's difficult to find someone who could be truly objective given such a task.

I don't know if it's applicable to this situation, but it is a bit of content moderation I liked.

Version 2 of the Community Happenings thread has been a HUGE improvement. For those not aware, the original thread was for posting Happenings, but there weren't any rules. People would say a thing happened but not post where it was covered on the farms. There would be discussion of the event in the Happenings thread, and not the thread about the subject/event.

Version 2 changed it, and enforced, so that posts had to be about a happening, with a link to the Kiwifarms thread about that subject, and the post covering what happened. This vastly improved the thread and made it one of the best on the site in my opinion.

However, can we apply this to the Thunderdome? Broadly I think that would be too much moderation, however I think they're are elements to which it could work. Currently when we have a big event, the Uvalde and New York shootings, there results of the Depp Heard Trial, or the Ukraine-Russian War, there is a megathread. These drive a lot of attention to A&N from people not interested in generally discussing politics, and I think creates friction between members.

What if we had two megathreads. One with rules similar to the new Community Happening, where updates with links are all that is allowed, with strict and zero tolerance thread banning. The other being a Community Discussion thread that's treated like a current A&N thread.

This is very much an idea that popped into my head thing, I can see that there might be reasons this is impractical that I'm not currently thinking of, but I thought it was worth mentioning as I really do appreciate how the new Happenings thread turned out.

Bwahaha. Says the shit flinging monkey circus sideshow that talks shit behind a paywall. Thanks, really needed a good belly laugh.

To head off the preprogrammed response of 'buy a T&H tag, poor';
  1. I've sent Null $5-$10 of crypto every month for the last 2 years
  2. I've seen enough screenshots of faggotry afoot down there and I want nothing to do with it
@Spunt according to the ADL and SPLC, you did sign up for neo-nazi website. Also, the thunderdome is not why Null lives in eastern Europe. That happened because of laughing at lolcows.
Lol sorry I hit a nerve with my post. Maybe you should go back to whatever shithole site you came from, or did you get banned from there?

I probably wouldn't even have HHH on ignore except that I hardly ever saw him posting outside of antagonizing A&N, and so many fucking spergs take his fucking bait, or @ post him specifically to get him to post bait to sperg out at, that it cut down half of the clutter.
Ignore is for pussies

How much do you expect glowniggers to pay you tho?

Five cents a post? You’re just going to get ripped off by Director Schlomo and Agent Noggarius.
lol shut up shamash of akkad

edit: lol i was mistaken, the proper title is actually sargon of shamash

I don't see a problem with people trolling HHH back or responding to him or laughing at him. Like he gets to run into threads and fling shit, people get to fling shit back at him. It's weird that he and Dyn should be trolls and no one else. At worst a slapfight flare up a couple of pages and then it dies down.

If there's no problem with him trolling which there clearly isn't then it shouldn't a problem with other people trolling either.

The thing is, though... HHH isn't a troll. He's very serious, which makes it all the funnier when people mess with him. I get that it's easy to think that he is a troll, given how absurd most of his posts are, but a 'troll' can be defined as somebody who is just trying to get a rise out of people. HHH puts far more effort into it than that. I don't mean individual posting effort, I mean mental attention. The amount of time he puts into this forum is genuinely worrying. I'd say it's at least as much time as a 9-to-5, dedicated exclusively to arguing with people and calling them retards here. When you realize that, you also realize he is one of those individuals who really is serious, or has somehow convinced himself on a fundamental level that yes, it's totally still ironic trolling to put considerably more effort into 'owning the conservatards' than one would put into an actual job.

That's really the issue with people like him and APC, who was thankfully banned and is, with any luck, getting the serious psychological help he desperately needed. Their existence here is literally a joke for anyone 'in the know'. It's not any one thing they say, it's not any attitude they have, it's not any opinion they hold. It's that they invest so much time, effort and mental energy into this place it becomes completely transparent that no, they really don't have anything better to do with their lives.

HHH is textbook troll. And no, being a troll doesn't require self awareness.

Sargon is white, married and has a job - he doesn't deserve being compared to him.

Doesn't he have his own company by now? Lotus eaters. He has employees. Or is it someone else who owns that stuff?

no, you see, it was a reference to this one old thread... okay, in hindsight this is all very autistic. carry on~

I find it crazy that we kept the people that caused such a shit storm for the Mods and instead got rid of the stickers. I can't think of someone on here I'd consider more of a faggot than someone who cares about ratings. I appreciate the use of stickers, I think they can spare a lot of threads from useless comments, but I also don't want to step up to be a tard wrangle, so if that's a condition of current mods keeping up the work, than I'm not going to be upset about them staying gone.

A thought occurs:

What if we create a subsection for the Autistic Thunderdom, an area where users can argue political beliefs against each other. It can be called the Warzone, and anything goes (as long as it's not something that can get the site in trouble, like fedposting). Null could even create special stickers for use in the Warzone, that con also be used in the rest of the Thunderdome, the only caveat is that in order to get the stickers, you have to pay for them. Since they're paid stickers, they can be worth a ridiculous amount, like +100 points or -100 points. We can even have special stickers that are worth +500 or -500, hell even go +1000 or -1000 for people willing to pay extra for it. Hell, you could even make it so that if someone pays enough, they can have the avatar of someone they don't like changed into something stupid and embarrassing for a full week. Then that person could turn around and do the same thing to the person who did that to them.

Example- someone right-wing could pay to have HHH's avatar changed into something humiliating, and HHH could have the same done to them.

It's a win-win, Josh gets more money for the site, and the fags who are obsessed with stickers and won't shut up about them will be the only ones stupid enough to spend money of fucking internet stickers. And everyone else gets to laugh at tards throwing money at this shit.
