Selecting a Despot for the Autism Thunderdome

The fact people are chimping out over @secret watcher for ratings is the perfect reason why he should mod A&H, he’s already hated by users.
And he doesn’t even get a penny for it.
Holy shit this thread turned gay really quickly. Now I understand why Null wants to find 4 other jannies for you fags.
And then the question becomes how long will they last.
Who would win in a fight: German Nazi women or Russian snipers?
My money’s on the snipers.
Following up on my previous comment. I've put some thought into some possible restructuring that would make things more pleasant for all parties involved. The first chart shows the basic subforums that I then split into separate images explaining subsections/details. I think it bears repeating that I think it is a very good idea to limit the power/authority being a thunderdomer janny gives someone. I also haven't been able to think of any reasons why janny action there shouldn't require at least two signing off on it if it isn't a major TOS violation. It won't prevent abuse or cliques but it provides a more telltale paper trail of evidence if it happens. Let me know if you have any questions!

Not too different from how things are now. Mistyped and too lazy to re-do it, "Duel Arena" should read "The Pastadome/Puzzle-Piece Factory". This is where debate and sperg containment will be the primary focus.

Anyone familiar with Runescape will understand the Duel Arena/Wildy designation. Duel Arena is "friendly" or at least respectful enough that you should be able to move on from things. It can be user v. user or side v. side. Users that cannot maintain decorum here are condemned to the Seppo. Wildy- not mutual or required to be respectful. Maybe have a "Powerlevel" assigned to users and let OPs there by choice choose their difficulty (jannies can adjust this as they see fit). While not necessarily a place of punishment, "fuck around and find out" should be good advice to potential posters.

The Septic Tank is where any users that net minor punishments end up. Shitposts are moved here. Users banned from the greater thunderdome are still allowed to comment and even make threads, in text only. I think the maximum punishment Thunderdome jannies should be allowed is non-permanent condemnation here. Shit that pisses of Null, VIPs, or approved staff can be moved here. "Problem Users" that make this place their exclusive home are given proactive Halal-approval at Null's/actual staff's discretion.
Look at you with your charts. I think you have potential to get a mod spot.

Nobody will have the time or effort to read that. It's too convoluted.

Keep calling me a communist and I might just decide you're worth firing up PowerPoint. Considering the general audience, if I could communicate this concept in pictorials like an IKEA manual I would have. My only hope is the people taking this seriously enough will take the time to bother with it. I do not have the ability or inclination to take on the job advertised here and won't pretend otherwise. I do think these ideas could make it easier for whoever does or at least prevent my favorite place to shitpost from disappearing.

Thanks for proving my point about the IKEA manual.

Nice. But it only covers the the forum structure but not processes or structure of organziation.

Can you add some flow-diagrams for
* how are changes to the forum structure presented and voted on
* how are new topics created
* conflict resolution
* how to appeal a mod action

The only change I'd make is I'd call the Tabloids subforum "CatParty's Litter Tray".

Overall, this is good stuff. Just the right amount of autism needed to successfully restructure the Thunderdome.
Nobody will have the time or effort to read that. It's too convoluted.
No doubt @Sevenatenine will furnish us with a Powerpoint to help explain the proposal in slightly less autistic terms.

I am but one sperg. I'm doing my best. Q&A for these seems easier.
Can you add some flow-diagrams for

Probably pinned threads with a poll feature. Depending on the degree of change either by thunderdome-specific mods or site staff.
* how are new topics created
Same way threads currently are with ostensibly the same mechanisms used now to deal with shitposts in the wrong place. Plus the new alternative to simply flush it to the septic tank.
* conflict resolution
See the Pastadome and Duel Arena. Alternatively TTS.
* how to appeal a mod action
TTS. Potentially with a new "FLUSH" button for staff to easily move it to the septic tank and make it public as-needed.

I don't really post here often, mostly lurk because unlike most people I'm not great at articulating my points. I joined for a lolcow I was following, but found myself gravitating towards AT simply because most other sites on the internet are too heavily curated or otherwise don't let people speak their mind when it comes to the news. I've left several sites in the past because they started ramping up on rules and making it feel like you have to tread over eggshells to even post. At the same time, I wouldn't want a "no man's land" approach with absolutely no rules, either. KF seems to strike a fine balance between the two, in my opinion.

Others have already formulated solutions for the problems AT actually faces better than I could. I just wanted to say that it'd be a shame if heavy-handed moderation turned AT (or just KF in general) into a copy of basically every other site out there currently. There's a certain charm to this place as it currently exists.

As an aside, and not to further directly engage with Dyn, I do think we need more male teachers. Boys need role models, and if you have noticed-most of the troons and gender queer rainbow predators are women.
Can we maybe get an ‘off topic’ sticker a lá the Moai for politisperging plz? I’d suggest a small pile of dogshit with stink lines and flies buzzing around it.

That's all nice in theory and I respect the thought and effort but it's too complex to moderate and spreads discussion thin across several boards instead of fewer more active boards. Activity is what keeps threads interesting, new posts keep uninteresting/stale threads moving downstream at a good clip. Alternatively everyone will just clump up in the least restrictive place with the more interesting people, you'll have a bunch of near empty boards and an overflowing cess pit.
