Will Sneedforo allow for moderation queues? Sites which selectively impose post/reply moderation queues seem to have better discourse.
E.g. users with an account < 1 year old and/or with less than a certain minimum post count and/or net reaction score (either in general or in the Thunderdome specifically) would have to wait for a janny to approve their comment before it leaves the queue and becomes visible to other users. Users who meet the aforementioned requirements will have their posts approved by default unless they get flagged by a Thunderdome mod or site admin as a problem user, in which case they will be resubjected to the moderation queue until their "flag" expires or is removed. Sort of like an intermediate step that comes before a ban.
Flags could be reimposed if necessary, but there would be a maximum length for an individual flag so that jannies wouls have to reassess at the end of the expiration period whether or not the poster has improved.
If a person is perpetually being reflagged and thereby creates a headache for moderators, then they could just be banned from the Thunderdome at that point.
Posts which contain certain identifiable elements identified as frequently leading to decreases in thread quality (e.g. pinging other users who have not yet posted in the thread) could potentially be automatically sent to the moderation queue even if the user posting it would normally be exempt.
This could also be a way to raise money for the site, as users could bypass the account age/minimum post/post score/etc threshold(s) by paying a fee (T&H could be counted towards this, or it could be included as a separate fee).
Just some ideas. Idk if this vision in either Xenforo or Sneedforo, though.
