Like everywhere else, rental cars in Finland are entirely autos now. I don’t see why he’d have a problem, it’s the same side of the road, and these days every phone has good enough satnav to tell you which lane to be in.

Ah, OK. Good to know. They're still uncommon in the RHD countries, and I've found availability on the Continent to evidently be down to whatever fleet deals the rental company could cut with the vehicle manufacturer / distributor in that territory.

I've been in the US long enough that my accent has changed substantially - to the point where when I go home to visit friends & family, I may be asked at the rental counter if I want an automatic. The usual reply of, "no, manual's fine, and if you have a diesel, that would be fantastic," generally throws them for a momentary loop.

For an IDP? I can see that being needed for a regular driving licence issued in Finland, but IDPs are generally issued in the holder's home country using whatever language is considered the norm there.

IRC the American one is valid for a short period of time in the EU, I have had a few American friends rent cars no issue in the UK and our driving laws / regulations for visitors are still the same as before Brexit. I think the law is something like 90 days, or 6 months on a long visit visa but after that you need to have a local one or something like that.

Pretty much this. As pointed upthread, timeframes and caveats vary from country to country but the general principle in the EU is that, if you're a visitor, you're allowed to drive on your foreign licence for the duration of your stay, but if you have a D visa (temporary residence), you're supposed to get a licence from the country that issued your visa after a certain timeframe if you want to keep driving. (The only ones exempt from this as far as I'm aware are international students in certain countries, but don't quote me on this). Long story short, if Chris was in Finland on a partner visa, he'd eventually have to take the courses and sit the exams in Finnish (and possibly have to pass practical on a stickshift) and I don't really see that happening, logged hours in Duolingo notwithstanding.

Son of a bitch, Barb’s Z3 was a manual. But I never saw Chris driving it. It was my understanding that it had mechanical problems (BMW stands for Bring My Wrench lol). Hence why the much more reliable ‘02 Dodge Caravan was Barb’s ride of choice until its unfortunate destruction in 2021.

The test is in Finnish so are road signs, basic understanding of Finnish language, you do not have to be next the Elias Lönnrot.

Because Chris isn’t a retard, he’s just stupid and lazy. He’s plenty capable of doing things, which is why it’s so funny when he consistently fucks up.

I have followed Chris for a very long time.

You'd be surprised that there is a cleverness about him. I don't believe he's smart, I don't believe he makes good choices and I don't believe he's a good person.

But who is all those things right? Heh...

There's a cleverness about him or you might even call it luck. An almost tricky kind of kismet about him.

He just ... Gets away with things, never has to fill the full brunt of his actions if he feels it at all.

I know a much better person than Chris who has the same kind of fortune.

Life isn't about living, life is about dodging bullets and finding escape routes. Even if every once in awhile you find a little slice of paradise, well, Chris is just one of those people that never has to face life.

Good hard-working honest and decent people are the ones that deserve the luck. Not this guy. Maybe I could have made a slight argument before 2021 but you know. I joke around a lot but yeah I mean it when I say Chris is more tricky and clever than he appears to be.

The reddit account was legit, a logs have been calling that place and they do read toy related Reddit being normies, not bronies.
Just a toy museum who want to hold the event without incidents. Inviting over a known sex pest, literal motherfucker and troll magnet gets wrong kinds of attention, not wholesome blurbs about women in their mid 30, combing second and second generation pinkies pie toys with their kids (If they aren't three chinned womanchildren)

Wouldn't say that, Chris' has had a harder and more depressing life than like 99% of people. Being born with his level of social skills and low intelligence is hell. You're right about him dodging bullets though.
