Luckily for those on the East Coast the next time we look it'll be on the other side of the ocean terrorizing France or some other place completely unexpected.

Edit the third: There was flash flooding in Texas overnight. 27 dead, still looking for 20 girls. Area flooded camp area: lots of RVs and summer camps in the area and full up because of the holiday, About 4 months of rain in 6 hours.

Some folks blame Trump's cuts at the NOAA.

I guess the conspiracy theorists and other tinfoil hats guys will claim then HAARP might be behind these flash floods.

I mean on one hand they say in the video they got the flash flood warning. But they also haven't had a bad flood like that since the 80's. I know we've come a long way with predicting the weather but being able to tell 4 months worth of water is going to fall isn't something we can do yet. I knew about the weather forecasting right before hurricane season too. But FEMA too? Geez.

But it's 2025 and the internet and that's why we can't have nice things.

Edit. They already are. There is a stream right now that started 10 minutes ago that was just fed to me with the title "The TRUTH of WEATHER MANIPULATION ⛈️ Flash Flood in Texas Claims Hundreds on 4th of July"

Tropical Storm Chantal has made landfall off the coast of South Carolina, here's the cone:

Overall, a disappointing nothingburger. Sad! Tropical Storm Chantal shall be ignored in the annals of history as yet another hiccup in a long line of boring storms...
note: not actually upset that this tropical storm didn't get worse. I doubt I need to clarify but just in case lol. It would have been funny if Chantal was a big deal, yes, but it wouldn't be worth all the damage a hurricane would bring with it.

I know people who live and work in Myrtle Beach. It’s still an inconvenience for them, but that’s mostly all that it is.

Honestly, Tropical Storm Chantal having the potential to do more but half assing it instead is very lolcow Chantal coded.

I like to think.of it as another chance for the storm to really live up to its namesake! :D

and I hope that, if we get a Hurricane Humberto this year, it'll be just as goofy as the last, where it received a world record for how fast it developed

We did have Marjorie Taylor Greene and others saying the weather was being manipulated to force these floods or that it was basically murder to defame Trump.

Politics is wild.
