Shane Nokes DOOM Mod

Idea: the pistol is replaced by Chris Chan’s megatron pistol. I’m sure if I found a sprite mod featuring a Walther P38 I could easily edit it to be the gun of fail

In terms of the other weapons so far I have:

Negrator: Likely based on Plasma Cannon. Fires negative ratings like the autism puzzle piece, dumb, MATI, politisperging, Islamic Content, etc... I think Puzzle Pieces should be the most common since it's what Shane mostly uses, with the others being random. They can either be purely cosmetic or do more damage.

Double Barrel Shotgun gets a little makeover and is called the Troon Toothbrush

For the Butterknife, I like the idea of it being a melee weapon, alternatively the Minigun can be changed to fire butterknifes.

Moon Man DOOM, basically 8Chan edgelord DOOM. Kinda what we're shooting for.

Bouncing off of this, maybe all of the weapons could be armaments associated with lolcows. The chain gun could be replaced with a Trancher’s pink AR15, and the rocket launcher could be James Rolfe’s super scope

I'm sort of the opinion that a more generalized approach would be good. I love Shame, but he's just one small part of the site, you know? There's like a million threads, and I think more people would "get it" if you played as the Slobbermutt and he went through levels for various cows. Get a Shame level, and PST level, King Terry level, Ralph level, etc. and a Sonichu/CWC level as the final boss. This would also provide a lot of room to scale going forward as well. Like if there's a new thread that gets popular, a level could be added for the cow.

I know that Shame is our subject, but how often does a DOOM mod come out for KF?
Any thoughts on that? BTW if everyone's like "Harb, stfu & kys" that's cool too. I'm down for whatever. I just wanna do computer nerd shit.
I agree with you on a more generalized approach. While I think Shane being the protagonist is fine and keeps true to the original proposal, I think the game should make KF references from all over the place and we should try to include as many as possible.

Sounds good. Still working on installing all this shit. This is what I get for trying to make Arch work. Gotta run out, but I'll report any success I have getting a dev environment stood up.

We can't forget PST, of course. Maybe Fatrick could be Cacodemons. Each demon could be a cow. Cacodemon is PST, Zombieman can be Greer, Cobra can be Pinky.
At least one level should be a totally shitposty Terry wad. (Not the Terry Davis level of course.)
 
If you want people to contribute to a Doom mod, you could do it in the style of various community map packs the Doom (and other modding communities) have put out. Set some limitation or theme, and have people submit stuff. The OP can then edit the maps and put them together in a way that makes sense.

Personally, I'd advise against making a shitpost mod in terms of unwinnable levels, overpowered monsters, etc. You can if you want, but those are installed, played for 30 seconds, then uninstalled and forgotten. Mods like CrackLife and MoonMan Doom do a far better job by taking the gameplay seriously but giving it the veneer of a shitpost.

There's a lot of community content for Doom. New weapons, new monsters, free textures, things like that. You should look into them instead of making all the content from scratch.

I've not modded Doom much, but I have modded other games. I might be able to contribute, but Shane isn't one of the cows I follow so I don't know how useful I'd be.


If you want to keep the scope low, but aren't married to Doom or want to make a stand alone game, I can recommend GB Studio. It's a basic tool for making equally basic GameBoy games like platformers and Zelda clones, but the limitations it provides means you might be able to put out a game quickly.

I think we mainly want the content and level themes to be funny but keep the gameplay intact. I would rather the game is playable so people stay for jokes and references rather than making it purposefully shit and unbeatable as the joke.
 
I had to install a non-Flatpak version of Slade but I got it properly installed and configured. It was failing to compile because I didn't have "which" installed. An error message about that would have been nice.

I can make a basic map and run it with GZDoom/FreeDoom. I can create objects in in, move around in it, and shoot stuff and pick stuff up. Pretty neat. Currently just getting familiar with WADs and stuff and trying to figure out how to import custom stuff which I think I get.

Also wouldn't mind jumping ship to UltimateDoomBuilder if that's the general preference btw.

Alright, going to make a bit of a long post but I think it will cover most of what's on my mind for this mod.

First is the question of what direction to take it in. I see a debate between two main directions for this game. A Doom mod that has you play as Shane Nokes, and a more general Kiwi Farms Doom Mod. Both have things I like, for example, I think Shane makes a funny protagonist with his weapons like the butterknife and puzzle pieces, his gunt armor, and his "internet tough guy" personality on a vendetta against the Farms. For a general Kiwi Farms Doom Mod, I like how many funny references we can cram into it. At the moment, I like the Shane being on a quest to destroy the Farms plotline, but I would want to include as many Farms references as possible.

I had some stage ideas as well, I'll just list them off with a little description and we can decide what the best ones are:

1. Twitter: This one is pretty self explanatory, and it's here where you would put the Elon Musk boss. If we go with my my RubinRemus idea, this could be the tutorial or opening stage. The Rubin idea is basically, RubinRemus will appear and he will give you useless tutorial info like Navi or Omochao. It would be super fucking annoying because he wouldn't just give redundant or useless tutorial information, he would also spout useless off topic crap. He would also take up a decent chunk of the screen. You would then have to bully Rubin into suicide to get him to shut the fuck up. If we do achievements, two ideas I had was one called Caroline Farrowed, which is simply given for making Rubin fuck off, alternatively, as a challenge, there could be an achievement for beating the entire game with Rubin pestering as a little bonus challenge. This if we can even implement something like Rubin or achievements in the first place.

2. Catboy Ranch: A Keffals themed stage, where perhaps the main goal is to free the imprisoned catboys Lucas Roberts is grooming.

3. Tranch: I'm thinking for this stage the boss is Kevin Gibes and this would be the main troon themed stage in the game. I am currently unsure if a Keffals Catboy Ranch stage is a better overall troon stage, so that's something to think about. A Jonathan Yaniv stage is a third alternative for a troon stage.

4. TempleOS: A stage themed after Terry Davis's operating system. Main enemies would be glowniggers

5. Fatrick Tomlinson: Maybe this one is themed after the OnA Forums, but I think Fatrick would make a good boss CHILD!

6. CWCville Mall: First idea I have in regards to Sonichu levels, in this one the enemies would mainly be the jerkops and manajerks, with maybe Mary Lee Walsh or Naitsirhc being the boss.

7. 4-cent garbage: Another Sonichu themed stage, I would have Jason Kendrick Howell as the boss and I feel this stage has a lot of potential for references on each floor. This could be a potential penultimate level.

8. CWCki Forums: Last Sonichu themed ideas, the design would be themed after the old look of the Farms when it was the CWCki Forums. Maybe this is a secret stage that you have to access with a collectable, like finding the seven Sonichu Balls in other stages or finding Chris. Maybe Chris himself would be a secret boss.

9. Ethan Ralph Stage: This one speaks for itself, what I think makes it even funnier is Shane's wife has a gunt to rival the Ralphamale.

10. The Final Stage: Again, if we go with the Shane as a protagonist route, this would be a stage themed after the Farms where you must defeat the Final Boss of All Transphobes Null. Possible objectives could be to shut down Kiwiflare to allow DDOS attacks in.

11. @I'm Just A Worm Stage: I think he should be the one to design this one, but he should have a stage, especially given his rivalry with Shane.

There are some lolcows who I think would be fun to include, like Peetz, but I am not sure if they could get a full stage. I think for lolcows where a full stage cannot be made out of them, a cameo would suffice.

Love the ideas. I REALLY want that Terry level so I can run finally LARP as God's Chosen Programmer and run glowies over with a car. I like the Keffals stage better for troon shit due to the impact that it had on site operations. The final switch to end the level could be the KiwiFlare ON switch. You turn it on and Keffals and the troon menace is defeated.
Fatrick would make an excellent boss too. The emoji:tomlinson:would be perfect. Slap that shit on a Cacodemon and make it say "enjoy prison, stalker child" over and over again and it's practically just like the real Fat.

Regrettably, my CWC lore is shit but there's a million different things that could be done. The ideaguys or miscreants for monsters, A-Log in there somewhere, Sonichu medallions for keycards. Liquid Chris as the boss. The possibilities are practically endless.

As for a succinct direction, can we make polls or something? At least to take a pulse. There's websites for that if we can't do it on the site. Also, buy-in. Are there more users who'd want to contribute? I know DOOM mods aren't rocket science but having the breadth of knowledge and talent of other Kiwis would be a massive boon.
 
That's brilliant. I really like this idea a lot. It would let us get a good balance of website themed stages and real life locations. Another thing we could do is in the cybersecurity sections of the game, Shane is more alpha and powerful compared to his real life soy counterpart.

Arch-Vile - Nicki because her vagina is gross
Lost Souls - You could probably just reuse the Little Bill Head's someone used in another Doom Wad for the poor black children whom Patrick has eaten
Revenant - Torque Wheeler (I don't know make it car themed, i guess)

If you go with the "play as a Kiwi" idea, the plot should be the dimensional merge is on and it's up to the kiwi to shut it down.

It's easy, the problem is the number of frames. I don't know if you have to stick to the Doom colour palette as well? I think it's possible to add more enemies in addition to replacing the base game enemies, so you could do variations on the imp and zombie man with the cows face crudely edited on top.

While I could suggest lots of cows, I think DSP would be good to include. Lots of sound bites and when he dies he complains that there was nothing he could do. Moviebob could also work with his powers being various Nintendo themed attacks like fireballs, Megaman buster arm, etc.

One of Elon's attacks should be throwing blue-checkmarks at people.

Another idea for lost souls. The ResetEra logo (or similar community) since all their users are lost souls.

You could do these as episodes. One episode could be attacking Twitter, one a CWC episode, and another a troon episode.
