Imagine, a female design by western devs in 2023 that is appealing instead of a scowling masculine niggress. "WayForward" almost sounds like a promise these days.

Eh... their art style for her has taken a nosedive as of lately

Pirate's Curse was the peak of Shantae animation, especiall the pixel sprite stuff, and then Half-Genie Hero changed all of that and now it's not so appealing

Seeing them all side-by-side, now I see problems with each design. We need Shatae to absorb the others and enter her final form.

Shantae is also a good pick if you want a game with a fun cartoony vibe. I've never seen Duck Tales but the developers specifically mention it as a big influence in those Kickstarter videos I posted.

Also, even Game Freak learned how to work the GBA's sound chip:

Preorders are now open. Music in the trailer is OK but my hopes still aren't that high.
My money's still on "Turn music off in the options menu and put on your favourite 2000's handheld game soundtrack".

Were they ever anti-woke? I don't think so.
They said "coom away" for their kickstarter campaign and that was it. Keep in mind that this was also 2013 and you could still say stuff like that without having your life ruined.
