Share your thoughts about listening to the Carlson Putin interview

I don't get the people applauding long ass history lessons as answers. It's not some super power, every basic politician will be able to do it if you give him the chance, but going on a long tangent about why you do something is:
A. Just asking to have people poking hole in what you said.
B. Will cause the voters to vote for someone who can actually explain something in concise ways.

The only reason no one does A is that everybody knows it's made up bullshit history.

  • People are taken aback by a leader that doesn’t act like a buffoon and/or read from a list of talking points drafted by the World Economic Forum. That makes for a lot of chapped asses here because they so desperately wanted buffoonery to validate their viewpoints.
  • Putin was never going to give anything juicy to Tucker because why would he? Once again people here seem to think all discourse needs to resemble a Xitter slapfight.
  • Putin is pro-Russia? Holy shit, there are some fuckin’ geniuses here. Then again, we’re used to globohomo puppets who endlessly shit all over their own countries that a leader in favor of their own country causes sputtering.
The interview was okay and exactly what you’d expect from two people who are ultimately diametrically opposed to each other’s viewpoints. People who were expecting some sick pwnz or a slapfight were the real losers here. Having said that, Tucker was a lot more professional than Megyn Kelly who got slapped around by Putler because she was hoping for a soundbite slam dunk on him and miserably failed. I give the interview a C but the butthurtedness it created an A+.
buddy really calls out ‘globohomo’ on a global website, under the avatar of some pop media buffoon: buzzwords and all. lol

It was fun hearing Putin shit on past Americans Presidents legacy as "peacemakers".

"I asked Bill Clinton if I could join NATO, but he said he was told I can't do that".

As if he has been trying to shake hands with "the west" for 20 years and been perpetually shit on.

Which seems sort of true.

It's true the Russian armed forces aren't nearly the strength of the Red Army at the height of the Cold War, but it doesn't need to be. A few years ago, NATO inspectors and analysts conducted an in-depth assessment of Germany's military capabilities. They found mighty Germany was lying regarding its percentage-of-GDP commitment to defense spending, which everyone suspected anyway. In terms of ground capabilities, the Germans, it turned out, could only field a single armored brigade--a skeleton brigade even then since fully a quarter of those tanks required unavailable spare parts. Germany is very likely representative of our NATO allies in toto, with the possible exception of Poland. If the balloon goes up and Poland doesn't hold, the rest of the EU folds in a few weeks, tops.

Not saying the Russians would win, but if China made its play for Taiwan and Iran activated its terror cells in the US all at the same time, we're in for a very bad day.
I have to disagree. The Russian militaries performance in Ukraine has shown that the Russian military is just garbage tier. It's not even strong enough to deal with dirt poor Eastern European countries anymore. It really should be stronger especially if Putin wants to Boomer Soviet LARP with it. I'm actually surprised that Putin didn't know his military was in that bad of shape or he didn't care. Either way it shows a certain level of incompetency.

Yes, Europe sat back and played socialism while the US defended them against Soviet aggression. It's not a secret that the Europeans weren't keeping up with their military spending requirements. Even during the Cold War the Europeans were only supposed to slow the Soviets down long enough for the US to send more military to Europe.

I doubt the Russians could take all of Europe though. Their military is just garbage now. They had a military inheritance from the Soviet Union and Putin has wasted it all in Ukraine. Ukraine's military isn't nearly as capable as some of the Western European countries. The Russians were defeated in Western Ukraine and had to retreat. There is no way Russia could stand up combined effort of NATO now.
Nigger what? The southern border is wide open and they're already pouring in.

The US will be Brazil and Russia will be full of central Asian muslims and steppe chinks.

I watched an episode of the Ushanka Show, where the presenter said putting fucked up with the long diatribe if he intended to explain anything at all in the first place. He also took notes of everything and called out falsehoods. Nothing that surprised me at all.

Putin said that "You can't beat Western Propaganda". This also somewhat explains how he conducted the interview. I think he also expected something very different from Tucker Carlson.

Tucker Carlson is a very smart man who often says things in a very simple way and asks simple questions because he likes to start from first Principles. Tucker has basically become the new Rush Limbaugh although probably even bigger and even more influential.

Putin is also probably wrong about the Wests propaganda machine. It can be beat easily and simply as a matter of course there are a lot of Americans who do not agree with the narrative on Ukraine. He could have pushed more in that direction and gotten really good results.

Also I didn't actually like his history very much. He didn't do a very good job of explaining the why for a lot of the historical events. Why did Russia fall apart? Why did it come back together again? Why has Russia done some of the things it has done? There are good and insightful answers to all of those questions.

I don't care about Russia. I don't care about the Ukraine. I don't care about Europe. I don't care about things that happen outside of the real world (America).

Tucker's father Richard was a spook who ran voice of america, married into the swanson fortune, and worked with george soros to destabilize official US enemies abroad. It's a big club and you're not in it.
