What is it that he considered to be satanism that he participated in. Was it actually being a member of the church of satan/temple of set or was it just not being christian enough

He has met some random guy that claims to be a preacher who is influencing him slightly, but otherwise it's entirely created from his own mind.

It was pretty much just not being christian enough. He did not actually attend any church or follow their rules, he was just a fan of rock & roll, and drew pictures of demons/pentagrams. For some reason in his mind that equates to being a satanist.
