From the looks of the Banzai Blaster 2000, it seems to be just common hardware store pieces with some electronics from either airsoft or RC cars, both of which are big in Japan. Under the barrels you can see what looks to be a Ni-Mh battery from either one of the hobbies. Black powder or propellants like it aren't too hard to make from unregulated components.

I wonder how this'll be spun into an argument for gun control, seeing as there's no 3D printed parts and 3D printed "ghost guns" are the scariest, most marketable kind. They certainly can't ban airsoft, as that's the only reason 90% of Japan's NEETs even bother leaving the house.

Curious as to the shooter's motives. It's one thing to leave a 3D printed single-shot "disposable" pistol designed by someone many times smarter than you printing overnight, while jacking off to cartoons. It's an entirely different beast to cobble together a hardware store zip gun and have the confidence in your craftmanship to actually try to use it. Seems to me this guy didn't do this out of the blue, and put a modicum of thought into it.

Abe had to step down from his position back in 2020 because of his health.

Not unless it turns out the sperg was secretly a member of some group and not just a random psycho like what the initial questioning seems to show.

It's not even an international incident in that it doesn't involves conflict between nations. Who outside of Japan can Japan blame for this?

The grand joke of it all has to be the fact that when all eyes and ears are on the internal strife of the United States, the one to actually pull the trigger and hit a target is what appears to be a middle-aged Japanese man with aspergers.

didn't see a second set of barrels if it was a slam shotgun from pictures and video later in the thread but it's definitely homemade. Maybe a homemade black powder double barrel judging by all the smoke in the footage.

Knowing Nip's the powder was also homemade. If reports about the shooter was living in stinky conditions with intense odor he definitely had a shelf full of his poop and pee.

What in the world is up with people managing to block the shot right before the 2nd blast? It's uncanny.
