Shit that reminds you that you’re getting old - Re: Fwd: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Fwd: Damn young’uns

That I remember when totino's pizza used to be circles and not the squares they are today and the shelfs aren't full of YuGiOh cards anymore like they used to be. Went to walmart, I remember a whole shelf dedicated to that game, now we only have 1-2 card packs max. I felt so sad ngl.
Not only were they circular, they used to come in boxes, which made for the perfect plate if you flattened them out.

I just recently found the Tiger handheld games I had when I was a kid. Thinking that i used to genuinely like playing with those things makes me feel fucking decrepit.
AVGN is haram around here, but he nailed it. Tiger was the "poverty version" of [hit video game].

I envied the kids who could afford Tiger wrist games. Real Lorax hours: Nobody needs it, and everyone wants it.

If I knew what cars would be like these days I would have treated my 70s era Buick Regal better.
My dream vehicle's an M35A2 'deuce and a half' four-door 4x4 with the multifuel engine and zero electronics.
A vehicle that's practical, simple and robust enough to survive even in the hands of crayon-eaters.

Seeing niche fashion be incredibly accessible. I remember 2005-2009 making photobucket albums of big eyed, fine lined anime characters making scene getups and trying as hard as I could as a poor fuck to make my outfits and hair scene/emo. The right clothers were hard to find and the most I could fathom about ordering things online was maybe a Netflix DVD or an Ebay listing. Zoomers can achieve a specific look in a few days with little cash and access to the internet. Trying to fit into a style, even if materialistic and trying to match others, felt a lot more creative back then due to the lack of access. Or people would give up and just try their own thing. I can't think of other subcultures with fashion in 2021 that have a similar cult status that isn't a rehash/cosplay of past fashions with egirl makeup. It's really weird seeing carbon copies of scene queens with zoomers today; makes me feel old. I guess being nostalgic for the 2000s fashion/era in general makes me feel old.

Much of the soundtrack of my youth is now played on classic rock stations and regarded as fairly retro. Jimmy Eat World's Bleed American is 20 years old! Dad rock to me was always stuff from the 70's and 80's and now the same amount of time has passed for the music I loved in my teens as what I thought was old back then that my parents listened to.
