So the author couldn't even be assed to make it a genuine attempt at alternate history? I thought it would be a tranny sent to the past with major embellishments to act like they'd somehow be more accepting of his degeneracy, but the guy gets a genie, an actual genie to give him three wishes, one of which is very obviously the generic mtf wish fulfillment of becoming an actual woman. And he gets a magic sword because why not.
 
@Jemn Oopi I can't quote your post but that story is one of the most genuinely autistic things I've ever read on this site. Also how is him being a transwoman going to be a factor going forward when he's been given a 100% female body? I guess this is how you hook readers because I genuinely want to know more.

The United States had Greenland under its protection from 1940 onward. The Soviets can't even get to Greenland, but if they did, they'd trigger WW3. Although a communist Denmark is more interesting, giving the Soviets total control over the Baltic. Maybe Sweden draws closer to America and NATO as a result? Either way, there'd definitely be an American-sponsored Denmark-in-exile in Greenland if Denmark falls.

Has anyone ever done timelines abt a sapient species besides humans existing on Earth
like, a surviving enclave of those Indonesian hobbits or Jacques Cousteau accidentally making first contact with tool using octopi for example.

I don't remember its name but there was one set in a world where some species of earlier humans, like more gorilla than Neanderthal, were the only life in the Western Hemisphere, useful as beasts of labor but not really capable of interacting with human society as equals. One consequence of it was that racism didn't really exist (because it was impossible to dehumanize humans with actual subhumans right there).

The world is the exactly same and stuff only really starts to change once the Americas start being colonized and story is told through 7 short stories all tied into the universe of the book. The point about racism comes from the fact that indeed with the Homo Erectus still around (called Sims in universe) it throws the foundations of scientific racism under a complete spin because the intellectuals can tell a negro is different from a caucasian or a oriental but they obviously share far more with each other than they do with the Sims. Leads to emancipation of blacks in the USA a lot earlier and without a war. Or should I say the Federated Commonwealth of America.

An American outpost in Europe is interesting.

Firstly a lot of Italian Americans can now travel back and forth without needing papers or anything like that. Also the mob is probably boosted.

Cold War changes as now apart of America is within range of Soviet attack(at least in the fears of the public and government). More American presence in Southern Europe(as in hundreds of thousands of soldiers).

The rest of Italy probably leans more Soviet as they are going to feel imperialized here. Sicily will lose any unique culture or character and become thoroughly Americanized.

There are probably other changes in how Americans see themselves in the world, how Europeans view the American presence, and how the Soviets react as well. It may lead to an earlier anti American front tbh.

Sodomy was a felony in some states in the 90s (and misdemeanor in many others, including DC until 1993) so it would be perfectly fine to impeach a president for being a sodomite. That would've made a great trial with lots of quotable moments.
