Many people praise science for the advances it brings to our lives such as medicine, computers, and other useful gadgets. However, as science advances, the destructive power of science increases disproportionately to its benefits. For instance, since the late 1950s or so we've held the power to eliminate human civilization several times over with nuclear weapons and weapons-grade smallpox, anthrax, etc. Science also contributes to the increasing power of evil people such as the oligarchs of the World Economic Forum and their puppet politicians. For instance, they use social media and the internet as a propaganda tool to brainwash vast swathes of society using core exploits in human psychology. The power available to today's evil regimes far exceeds that available to historic dictators like Hitler or Stalin. The Chinese Communist Party of today operates their cruel regime far more efficiently than they did under Mao thanks to science.
The events of 2019-21 onward make a great case for the evil of science. A team of American and Chinese scientists created a manmade disease and "accidently" released it on the world, justifying radical proposals like lockdowns and mask mandates using faulty computer models and selling them to the public with social media manipulation. Later they created experimental mRNA gene therapies as a cure, gene therapies which were branded as "vaccines" using media manipulation and forced on the public using mandatory tracking devices ("vaccine passports") to make the elite billions of dollars. Some people became so addicted to the government taking their rights they even microchipped themselves with vaccine passports, a technology which may became feasible on a large scale in 10-20 years.
Technology's future brings about nothing but evil. The widespread proliferation of the internet and smartphones have robbed us of the concept of privacy since the early 10s. Right now we have cars, houses, and refrigerators connected to the internet which gives corporations/the government the power to shut down your car if they feel like it or set the thermostat to the highest level to "save energy". In the future it will bring us tech like brain-computer interfaces (BCI) which will let corporations/the government inside your head (all so you have the privilege of telepathic communication with your smartphone or a lightswitch). These BCIs, such as those the latest champion of the Right Elon Musk is developing, can theoretically reprogram your entire brain, either temporarily (to make you never question your orders at work) or permanently (so the plebs will never revolt as they work 90 hours a week and eat the bugs). In the future, you will never go anywhere without the powerful knowing where you are and beaming advertisements directly into your head.
This applies to practically everything. For instance, in the near future your money will be digital and secured by blockchains ("Fedcoin") which incidentally means everyone will know what you spend your money on (more data to be harvested). This will make it even easier to be totally financially depersoned and prevent your money from being spent on the wrongthinkers and other "unapproved" purchases. And space, you think space exploration is good? It's objectively not, because soon corporations will take over our skies with satellites that they will use to beam down advertisements. Wanna live forever? Well science will probably let us do that by putting your brain in a jar or curing aging itself, but at the cost of making you a slave to pharmaceutical companies along with the punishment of living in a miserable world full of advanced science used by the elite to run their shitty Brave New World meets 1984 knockoff. At least they'll manipulate your brain chemistry so you will be happy owning nothing.
"Oh, but science is just who uses it" you say, but that's not true anymore, because you will NEVER use science. Science exists to serve the powerful, and always has (since science was always funded by wealthy kings). Yet now the gap between the powerful and weak is so high that the chance at a revolution against these people is rapidly ebbing away. Everyone is just a collection of data sitting in a file somewhere, ready for the government (which today is the police force of megacorporations) to compile at will and prosecute you as needed. You are just a radical, ready to be depersoned with no access to bank accounts or eventually society. Those around you will cheer your obliteration, brainwashed as they are by social media as they are rewarded with upvotes and retweets for their hot takes on how the government should AKSHUALLY put your entire family in the re-education camp instead of just you.
I can go on and on about this problem, but it's universal. It really goes back to when we invented science starting with the invention of agriculture, which led to humans being enslaved to various sorts of priest-kings practically everywhere from the Americas to Europe to China. Now don't get me wrong, I don't think we should return to monke and I don't totally agree with Uncle Ted, but we gotta do something about the science issue before we end up a bunch of subhuman cyborg serfs living in pods. Science will damn us all, either by creating an actual pandemic (all major countries have bioweapons programs), nuclear war, or the most likely future, the future of the elite stomping on the rest of us forever, the one which people think can't happen because BCIs and self-driving cars are "just science fiction" and because Elon Musk owns Twitter and Trump or DeSantis will win in 2024 and save us all.
So what can we do? I think we should start by defunding science and declaring a moratorium on all future scientific research. This should be something almost everyone can agree on, like for instance if you're worried about manmade climate change, than science is the reason that exists to begin with and keeps getting worse. The United States alone wastes hundreds of billions of dollars each year on scientific research that contributes toward damning us all. Now, some of this is for defense purposes, which is where the core problem comes into play--we have to worry about other countries too like China not defunding science and thus taking over the world. International treaties banning certain types of research are impossible to enforce, since the incentive is too great for someone to cheat.
So what solution do we possibly have to stop science from advancing without destroying humanity? Should we defund certain types of science but fund others to do something like make a Skynet-esque program real, a program that would enforce the defunding of science? Or maybe it really is all about social media, and we need to have an anti-science billionaire control social media so they spread anti-science propaganda and convince the NPCs that science is bad so they stop funding it? Do we need a planetary "god", like those computer programs and shit in Star Trek that rule over planets and make them into a planet of farmers or 1920s gangsters or whatever?
What do you think should be done on this problem, Kiwifarms? tl;dr Science is killing society, how do we deal with it?
